( BW)(CA-ACTIONAL) Actional Control Broker to Play Key Integration
Role in Dresdner Bank's New Web-Based Loan Pricing Tool
Business Editors/High-Tech Writers
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 2000--
Project Will Give Bank Executives and Credit Officers
Real-Time Access to Crucial Analytical Engine
Actional(TM) Corporation, a leading provider of high-performance
e-Business integration software for market-facing systems, today
announced that Dresdner Bank has chosen Actional Control Broker as the
key integration component for its innovative, Web-based, risk-adjusted
loan pricing tool. Actional Control Broker will be the critical link
between Dresdner Bank's Web-based intranet user interface and its
analytical engine. Deployment of the Actional Control Broker
technology will dramatically improve the bank's ability to make
important, real-time lending decisions and capture more customers,
while leveraging its existing infrastructure.
Dresdner Bank relies on economic research and analysis data from
KMV Corporation's Deal Analyzer software when making credit and
lending decisions. In order to make that data available on demand to
executives, relationship managers and credit officers at various
locations in the bank, Dresdner realized that a high-throughput,
low-latency integration link was required.
Actional's market-leading e-Business integration solution,
Actional Control Broker, is providing the high throughput, direct
connection between Deal Analyzer and the bank's Microsoft Desktop and
Web server environments. Direct access to Deal Analyzer will allow
Dresdner Bank to utilize Return on Risk Adjusted Capital (RoRAC)
information as part of the loan pricing and origination process,
resulting in a greater number of profitable customers and more
competitive business operations.
"Through our testing cycle, we found that Actional's
direct-connect design delivered an unparalleled level of performance
to e-Business integration, which is crucial when time is of the
essence," said Brendan McInerney, vice president and head of Credit
Risk Modeling in Group Risk Control, Dresdner Bank AG. "Another clear
advantage of Actional Control Broker is its ability to integrate our
existing applications so that they appear completely native to the new
environment. We will be able to integrate information from Deal
Analyzer quickly and seamlessly with our Web-based intranet user
interface. This will streamline and enhance the way we make lending
decisions without requiring critical changes to our existing
infrastructure."
Several successful integration efforts with Actional Control
Broker led Fusion Technology Group - responsible for the design and
delivery of a turnkey, KMV-based system for Dresdner Bank - to
recommend Actional's product. Fusion has achieved unmatched results
using Actional Control Broker as an integration platform for
loan-pricing systems.
"Actional has a very strong background in high-volume e-Business
integration, delivering superior performance with the flexibility and
zero latency required by today's enterprises," said Ray Camrass,
managing director of Fusion. "For banks, where competition and
customer demand is extremely high, quick response time is critical.
Rapid return of information means faster loan approvals and increased
revenue - and more satisfied customers. No other company has shown us
that they are capable of providing the same level of integration in
this area."
John Orcutt, CEO of Actional, said, "Dresdner Bank's information
needs are very taxing on an integration solution. To be competitive,
they have to respond quickly when the query load is most intense -
when the greatest number of customers is calling. Actional Control
Broker dramatically decreased the response time for lending decisions
by giving Dresdner's loan officers direct dynamic control of their
business services."
"This project with Dresdner Bank and Fusion demonstrates
Actional's capabilities in helping companies unlock the power of the
Web and gain a significant competitive advantage in their marketplaces
through high performance integration." Orcutt added.
