    SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 29, 2000--

New Release Extends Siebel Systems' Leadership Position in Marketing Automation

Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:SEBL), the world's leading provider of eBusiness applications software, today announced the availability of Siebel Systems' next generation of marketing automation and analytic applications.
This new release, Siebel eBusiness 2000.3, extends Siebel Systems' comprehensive family of eBusiness applications with the industry's first pre-built eBusiness data warehouse and enhanced marketing automation functionality, and introduces new customer analytic applications with an extensive library of out-of-the-box analyses covering sales, marketing, and service.
"Siebel eBusiness 2000.3 is the leading solution that delivers true closed-loop marketing automation and customer analytics across all customer touchpoints," said Adam Klaber, managing partner for the CRM practice at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. "This expanded offering will allow our mutual clients to more completely understand their customers and then leverage this insight to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty, enhance productivity and maximize profitability."
"GMAC is committed to achieving 100 percent customer satisfaction and developing lifelong relationships with our customers," said Lisa Charney, senior vice president, General Motors Residential. "Using Siebel Marketing, we can understand and anticipate the unique and evolving needs of each customer and deliver tailored interactions to serve those needs. Siebel Systems' multichannel solution has allowed us to increase customer loyalty, retention, and satisfaction across a spectrum of diverse product and service bundles: transportation, home, and investment services."

    New Siebel Marketing Functionality

Siebel Marketing is the industry's most comprehensive suite of applications for the planning, management, and execution of multichannel marketing programs. Siebel Marketing applications support the entire closed-loop marketing process with integrated analytic, campaign management, data quality, and personalization capabilities.
"Through Siebel Marketing's complete multichannel campaign management solution, Bell Canada is able to create highly personalized one-to-one marketing campaigns based on our customers' preferences, patterns of interaction, and behavior, and execute these campaigns across all customer touchpoints," said Sharif Elhilali, associate director, Database Marketing, Bell Canada. "This has enabled Bell Canada to focus on improving our campaign ROI and customer loyalty."
Siebel eBusiness 2000.3 dramatically expands Siebel Systems' best-of-class marketing automation and analytic applications with broad enhancements, including:

-- Powerful Campaign Management. Siebel Marketing 2000.3 supports fully automated, multistage and event-triggered marketing campaigns, allowing companies to deliver personalized marketing programs based on real-time customer behavior. For example, a multistage marketing program could be set up to present a personalized Web promotion and then, depending on the customer response, trigger either a follow-up telesales offer or a thank-you email. By leveraging Siebel Systems' powerful workflow engine, the entire marketing program, from the initial customer segmentation, through communication of the promotion, to response collection and analysis, is performed automatically. Marketers simply design the flow of a marketing program using an easy-to-use, drag-and-drop user interface. This significantly reduces the time and cost associated with executing complex marketing campaigns.
-- Sophisticated Segmentation. With Siebel Marketing's enhanced segmentation capabilities, organizations can target customers based on rich profile information from Siebel eBusiness Applications and external data sources. Users have unlimited flexibility in defining precisely targeted customer segments using integrated analytics, calculated mathematical scores, ratios, and formulas. Powered by a proven, high-performance application server, Siebel Marketing quickly translates terabytes of data into highly targeted customer segments.
-- First Prebuilt eBusiness Data Warehouse. The Siebel eBusiness Data Warehouse is an expanded data repository that unifies all customer, sales, marketing, service, and product data, enabling organizations to create a complete view of customer relationships across all channels. An out-of-the-box solution, the Siebel eBusiness Data Warehouse combines data from Siebel eBusiness Applications, operational systems, and enterprise data warehouses, eliminating the need for costly, time-consuming custom data warehouse development.
-- New Prepackaged Interfaces. Siebel eBusiness 2000.3 introduces a set of prebuilt extractors that seamlessly integrate data from ERP, legacy and eCommerce applications with the Siebel eBusiness Data Warehouse. Available today are the Siebel Extractor for SAP(TM) R/3(R) and the Siebel Extractor for PeopleSoft ERP. Additional extractors for Broadvision and Ariba will be available in subsequent releases.
-- Broader Range of Out-of-the-Box and Ad-Hoc Analyses. Siebel eBusiness 2000.3 supports a broader range of analyses for strategic insight into eBusiness operations and customer behavior. More than 300 prebuilt charts and graphs provide analyses of customers, eCommerce activities, sales, marketing, service, and product performance. In addition, business users can easily customize or create their own analyses through a drag-and-drop ad-hoc query and reporting tool. Using the rich analytic capabilities in Siebel eBusiness 2000.3, organizations can optimize their marketing campaigns, improve sales and service effectiveness and maximize customer lifetime value.

    New Siebel eBusiness Analytics

Siebel eBusiness 2000.3 also introduces Siebel eBusiness Analytics, a suite of applications that provide executives and business managers outside the marketing department with more complete and in-depth insight into their customers and multichannel eBusiness operations.
"Siebel eBusiness Analytics enables Janssen to more effectively perform sophisticated market analysis," reports Jos Echelpoels, European Director, Integrated Customer Management, Janssen-Cilag. "As a key component of our multichannel, closed-loop eBusiness solution, Siebel eBusiness Analytics allows Janssen to measure the success of our sales campaigns against our business objectives and continuously refine our sales activities."
Siebel eBusiness Analytics takes advantage of the same high performance, Web-based architecture as Siebel Marketing, allowing employees outside the marketing department to analyze sales, marketing and service data within the Siebel eBusiness Data Warehouse.
