Increase In Productivity And Lowers Costs With Crystal Decisions
PALO ALTO, Calif.--Aug. 8, 2001--
Crystal Decisions World's Largest Working Sports Organization
Saves Thousands Annually in Communications Costs and Significantly
Improves Member Service With Crystal Decisions
Crystal Decisions, an information infrastructure company that is a
market leader in reporting, analysis and information delivery, today
announced that The Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) of America
has realized a 15 percent increase in employee productivity and has
saved thousands of dollars annually with the successful implementation
of Crystal Decisions' web-enabled enterprise reporting solution.
"With Crystal Decisions, the quality of service we are now able to
provide to our 26,000 members has skyrocketed," said Mark Brown,
senior manager of the IT department at The PGA of America. "Before
implementing Crystal Decisions, each of our 41 Section offices across
the US labored in a standalone environment where communication with
headquarters was handled by mail, phone or fax. Now, leveraging the
Internet, we are able to take data from multiple platforms within our
organization and analyze it in ways that we've never been able to
before."
Crystal Decisions has enabled The PGA of America to improve
productivity of office staff by 15 percent at the association 41
Section offices across the US. And because one person at headquarters
can perform a task that 41 people across the nation used to do, The
PGA of America is saving thousands of dollars annually in redundant
data entry costs. Time and money previously spent in administrative
duties has been redeployed to what the organization does
best-developing more programs to promote the game of golf.
Productivity at PGA headquarters is also up, where 25 staff at the
Membership Information Customer Service Center (MISC) experienced a 10
percent improvement in their ability as a group to answer member's
telephone enquiries. "Now that Section office managers can access the
database, they don't call MISC for routine requests, and we're
redeploying thousands of dollars into improved member services," said
Brown.
"Providing organizations of any size with solutions to increase
productivity and lower the total cost of doing business is essential
in these lean economic times," said Bill Gibson, chief operating
officer, Crystal Decisions. "The PGA of America is a perfect example
of an organization that has had tremendous success deploying Crystal
Decisions enterprise wide. With reduced costs and improved
productivity, The PGA of America is able to deliver first-class
customer service."
