Analysts and attendees give Informatica solution top honors in

"Mobilizing the Enterprise" category

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., December 13, 2001 — Enterprise analytics leader Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA) today announced it took first place in a technology demonstration at the recent Emerging Technology Scene conference hosted by industry analyst Giga Information Group Inc. (OTC BB: GIGX). Participating for top honors among more than 25 vendors, Informatica won in the category of "Mobilizing the Enterprise" for its recently launched Informatica Analytics Delivery Platform.

The Informatica Analytics Delivery Platform product demonstration received the highest rating from analysts and attendees polled in the following areas: Level of Innovation, Business Application Potential, Most Innovative Product, Best Quality Demo and Best Overall Winner.

Launched in October, the Informatica Analytics Delivery Platform is the first and only Internet-based solution to help enable Global 2000 organizations to deliver critical information via analytic dashboards to a broad range of corporate decision makers, whether they are in the office or on the road. Based on industry-standard J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) infrastructure, the Internet-based platform enables the creation of real-time analytics and alerts. These are packaged as dashboards with key metrics, reports, graphs, dials and gauges, and delivered to the point of work via Web, wireless and voice recognition interfaces.

"Mobile decision-makers demand information that is consistent, personalized, specific to their needs and, above all, timely," said Carl Zetie, vice president at Giga. "Analytic technology that can successfully help companies gain business insight—from anywhere, at anytime—will be increasingly critical to improving business responsiveness as more and more employees travel and work remotely."

"Recognition from such a distinguished audience for our new analytics delivery platform technology is gratifying and highlights the real need that exists for the broad-scale deployment of analytics across today’s extended enterprise," said Girish Pancha, general manager and senior vice president of Informatica platform products. "The Informatica Analytics Delivery Platform offers this capability by providing analytic dashboards that allow decision makers throughout an organization to be alerted to, navigate through and interact with critical information for real-time, fact-based decision making while in the office or on the road."

Giga’s annual Emerging Technology Scene conference brings together senior IT executives to view the most innovative products and technologies soon to hit the market. Through a series of demonstrations, Giga’s conference illustrates the future of technology in real time and shows how each technology impacts business and increases value.
