From: Vicki Smith-Daniels [dsi2001@asu.EDU] Sent: Monday, January 29, 2001 2:04 PM To: dsi2001@asu.EDU Subject: 2001 DSI Annual Meeting Call for Papers and Participation Request Dear DSI Member, Digitization of the economy is revolutionizing the way people and organizations make decisions. Appropriately, the 2001 Decision Sciences Institute Annual Meeting theme is "Digitizing Decisions and Markets" and will be held in the vibrant location of San Francisco, California from November 17-20, 2001. As the Program Chair, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a creative, dedicated, and enthusiastic program team. I know that they will put together an invigorating program with many opportunities to advance the Institute's mission and create new knowledge about business decision making. As you know, this is the time of the year to consider submitting papers, abstracts, and proposals, and volunteer to be part of the Annual Meeting. The submission deadline for papers, abstracts, and proposals for special sessions is March 1, 2001. Details about the Annual Meeting can be found at www.cob.asu.edu/dsi/. This newly formatted web site provides submission instructions, critical deadlines, program information, people to contact about sessions, tracks, and themes, and the preliminary program schedule. You can volunteer to participate in the Annual Meeting by completing the participation interest form located at the Annual Meeting web site under the menu option "Participation" or by going directly to www.cob.asu.edu/dsi/participation/Interest_Form.cfm. As new information becomes available, it will be posted at the Annual Meeting web site, including the Preliminary Annual Meeting Schedule (late August), Proceedings submission instructions (July), high visibility session abstracts (September) and final meeting information (October). We are expecting another outstanding DSI Annual Meeting in San Francisco. I hope you will consider participating in the San Francisco meeting by presenting a paper, serving on a panel or workshop, attending a professional development workshop, serving as a reviewer, discussant, and session chair, and by actively attending sessions. Don't miss this opportunity for "non-digital" connections with colleagues, friends, technologists, executives, and entrepreneurs in the vibrant and lovely San Francisco Bay Area. Sincerely, Vicki Smith-Daniels 2001 DSI Annual Meeting Program Chair P.S. I apologize in advance if you receive more than one copy of this email note. Your name may reside on several DSI and Annual Meeting databases under different names, different institutions, etc., thus leading to redundant messages.
