Anderson Trucking Accelerates Ahead of its Competitors on BroadVision

Powerful E-business Applications Enable Trucking Company to Offer the Widest Range of Personalized Information, Logistics and E-business Services in the Industry

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. March 27, 2001--
BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN), a leading supplier of personalized e-business applications, today announced that Anderson Trucking Services (ATS), the leader in providing flatbed and specialized transportation in the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, and Europe, has gone live with a new online presence in just 14 weeks, using a suite of e-business software applications from BroadVision. Based on BroadVision One-To-One(R) Enterprise, ATS' new, dynamic site offers customers, employees, and owner/operators the widest range of personalized information, logistics and e-business services in the trucking industry.
"BroadVision made it easy for us to quickly deploy a site that offers all the features and functionality we need. It's an ideal solution not only for Fortune 500 companies, but for large companies like ours that want to build and operate a first-class site," said Larry Weston, e-commerce manager of Anderson Trucking.
The Anderson Trucking Service site (http://my.ats-inc.com) provides personalized information and services for drivers, employees and customers, tailoring content based on each unique logon ID. The most popular new feature on the site is Load Tracking, which allows customers to track the location of their shipments by checking a page that updates locations in real time with information from QUALCOMM GPS devices in each truck. This feature assists customers in scheduling the arrival of goods in order to meet just-in-time manufacturing commitments. The Available Loads feature enables Anderson's 12,000 contracted partners (truck owner/operators) to check a web page -- updated every 10 minutes -- for loads available to be transported. Using Available Loads, customers can get their loads delivered sooner, and drivers can quickly and easily identify loads to transport.
The new site also allows ATS to use targeted marketing to cost-effectively grow its business with existing customers. For example, a customer who uses Anderson's flatbed transportation service receives news and advertisements that pertain to that service.
ATS chose BroadVision for its extensive personalization capabilities, and ability to provide all the functionality ATS needs now with flexibility for future enhancements and expansion. BroadVision's extensive Global 2000 customer base, position as a leading supplier of e-business applications, and strong partner relationships also were key factors that influenced Anderson's decision.
ATS is already realizing substantial business benefits from the BroadVision solution. The site is helping retain good drivers by offering online settlement and providing easy access to tracking information for relatives and others. It is also helping recruit new drivers -- the company receives hundreds of online applications each day. Services such as online quotes, Load Tracking, and Available Loads make it easier and more efficient for the company's major customers to do business with Anderson. These features also reduce internal paperwork and speed transaction processing, thereby increasing profitability. Anderson customers can make and adjust their schedules based on dependable reports on locations and delivery times. Accurate information delivered in real time to customers and drivers makes Anderson a preferred transportation partner.
"Anderson Trucking is taking a proactive stance by deploying the most comprehensive, dynamic site in the industry that delivers valuable e-business functionality -- such as online, realtime load tracking and load availability information -- even before customers request it," said Bill Zujewksi, vice president of product management for BroadVision, Inc. "BroadVision helped Anderson meet its objectives quickly and effectively with a powerful set of applications that delivered within their budget."
