Fujitsu Siemens Computers Selects Business Objects Analytic Applications
Europe’s Leading Computer Company Also Names Business Objects as Enterprise Reporting Standard
San Jose, Calif. – November 26, 2001 -- Business Objects (NASDAQ: BOBJ), the world’s leading provider of business intelligence solutions, today announced that Fujitsu Siemens Computers has purchased BusinessObjects™ Application Foundation as a framework to build analytic applications for all areas of its business worldwide. It has also selected Business Objects as its standard enterprise reporting solution to be deployed company wide. The new analytics capabilities from Business Objects will allow Fujitsu Siemens Computers to obtain an improved understanding of its customers, financials, and supply chain, critical in the increasingly competitive computer hardware industry.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers will rollout BusinessObjects™, the integrated, query, reporting, and analysis solution for the enterprise from Business Objects as its internal reporting standard, to all levels of the company worldwide. It will also deploy BusinessObjects Application Foundation, a new analytic application framework that lets businesses quickly and easily develop powerful, integrated enterprise analytic applications. Fujitsu Siemens Computers will use Application Foundation to build an analytic dashboard for executives and sales managers. This “digital cockpit” will access information from Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ i2, SAP, and Siebel applications, allowing the management to view key metrics of its business.
“We chose Business Objects because of its enterprise-wide reporting capabilities and its strong partnerships with Siebel, SAP, and i2,” said Kai Flore, CIO of Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “With its extremely intuitive interface, Business Objects will give our employees a consolidated, end-to-end view of important information as well as the invaluable freedom to individually create reports.”
The open and extensible architecture of Application Foundation will enable Fujitsu Siemens Computers to implement enhancements to its applications and add pre-packaged analytics from Business Objects at any time. The company can leverage the powerful analytic engines built into Application Foundation to perform complex set-based analysis and time-series analysis. This will allow Fujitsu Siemens Computers sales managers and company executives to track key user segments worldwide, to make sure they are meeting sales targets by customer segment or region.
