Intergraph's Research Program Encourages Innovation in the GeosciencesTeam GeoMedia Program supports applied research within universities and laboratoriesHUNTSVILLE, Ala., Aug. 8, 2002 - Intergraph Mapping and GIS Solutions newest Team GeoMedia(R) Program, Registered Research Laboratory, is working with universities and laboratories around the world to strengthen the future of geographic information systems (GIS) and the geosciences. The rapidly expanding program, announced at GeoSpatial World 2002, has applications from more than 20 institutions worldwide and already has universities and laboratories participating in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, South Africa, and the United States. The program provides leading-edge technology and development support for non-commercial applied research activities. These activities include developing solutions for geospatial information management (GIM), land information management (LIM), and map production. Registered Research Laboratories will be granted a GeoMedia license that provides access to GeoMedia, GeoMedia Professional, GeoMedia WebMap Professional, IntelliWhere OnDemand, IntelliWhere LocationServer, GeoMedia Terrain, GeoMedia Grid, Spatial Metadata Management System (SMMS), and SMMS GeoConnect(TM) for research projects. These institutions will participate in standard training courses and can publish their research on teamgeomedia.com. Access to the Team GeoMedia TechNet site and one complimentary registration to GeoSpatial World, the annual Intergraph GeoSpatial Users Community International Training and Management Conference, are also included. Universities and non-commercial laboratories are invited to submit proposals for the Team GeoMedia Registered Research Laboratory Program. Institutions chosen for the program will be required to submit a minimum of two research papers per year.
