SAP Announces Employee Productivity Suite

Comprehensive Suite Combines SAP's Expertise in HR, CRM, Financials, Business Intelligence, and Enterprise Portals to Empower Employees and Maximize Employee Value for Businesses

NEW YORK, New York - Aug. 28, 2002 - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced the SAP® Employee Productivity Suite (SAP EPS), a comprehensive, integrated set of self-service management and productivity tools, building on SAP's strengths in existing solutions for employee self service and manager self service and designed to increase employee access to information and business processes. The SAP solution is available in an economic climate that demands greater value from employees and requires businesses to empower their employees to take a more active role in managing their careers, collaborating in projects, and accomplishing key business objectives. The SAP Employee Productivity Suite provides businesses with the foundation to enable collaborative relationships between and among its employees to facilitate all employee activities. It helps everyone throughout the entire business landscape capture, share, and increase knowledge, resulting in more effective decision making. The announcement was made at DCI's Employee Relationship Management Conference being held in New York City, August 28-29.

SAP EPS draws on SAP's leadership and expertise in mySAP™ Human Resources (mySAP HR), mySAP™ Financials, mySAP™ Customer Relationship Management (mySAP CRM), mySAP™ Business Intelligence (mySAP BI), and mySAP™ Enterprise Portal (mySAP EP) and incorporates new innovations in technology. With approximately 9 million users worldwide already using its existing employee self-service applications and many customers rolling out new manager-focused services, SAP is now offering a new level of transparency, with access to information from employees, managers, executives, and business partners. This new level of transparency enables collaborative relationships and integrates a greater level of employee activity and interaction into the company's end-to-end business processes.

The role-based SAP EPS enables employees with various roles and accountabilities to access the information and processes most pertinent to them and in a way they expect to receive it. Executives can use the suite to access a high-level view of operations to develop strategies, monitor projects, and manage corporate training, commissions, and benefits. Field service managers can use SAP EPS to check service orders, organize work schedules, and manage requisitions. Customer service representatives can use the suite for access to shipment history, to review statistics, and to submit vacation requests. Employees throughout the business can use SAP EPS to manage their own work environment while all managers can use the suite to more effectively manage their teams. Combining information and processes leads to better insight, faster decision making, and a more rapid execution of projects, thereby increasing productivity. SAP EPS will further leverage existing resources and better align employees with the company's ultimate business goals.

"We are empowering employees to directly impact the company's bottom line by drawing on SAP's expertise in employee roles and business processes across the enterprise," said Deborah Schmidt, SAP global vice president, Human Capital Management. "With SAP EPS, customers will find a new level of value from the greater transparency and integrative capabilities the solution provides."

"Through our implementation of mySAP HR, we are already deriving significant benefits within the organization," said Mike Williams, senior vice-president, Human Resources, at Transalta, Canada's largest non-regulated electric generation and marketing company. "SAP EPS offers the ideal next application level for driving further alignment of our employees' activities toward the attainment of our corporate goals. We look forward to being able to achieve a sustainable environment for collaborative working and maximizing the value of our human capital."

SAP will announce further developments in employee-centric solutions at SAPPHIRE® '02, SAP's international e-business conference being held in Lisbon, Portugal, September 4-6.
