TILION INTRODUCES NEW ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS FOR LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN EXECUTION

Tilion enhances existing supply chain execution and planning applications
through solutions that solve three critical problems - inventory management,
inbound freight and shipment performance management

MAYNARD, Mass. - February 5, 2002 - Tilion, Inc., today announced the
availability of Tilion Solutions for Logistics and Supply Chain, a series of
new highly-focused solutions to bridge the gap between supply chain planning
and execution. The solutions, which are deployed on Tilion's new enterprise
software platform, include the industry's first inter-enterprise Shipment
Scorecard, which uses shipping and delivery data to monitor trading partners
in real-time. Other Tilion logistics solutions include inbound freight and
inventory management. Tilion's new solutions unlock critical data from
existing supply chain planning and execution applications, within and beyond
the enterprise, providing exception management and notification for the
extended supply chain.

Tilion also announced its new enterprise platform deployment to meet the
needs of corporate IT departments seeking to improve the effectiveness of
their existing supply chain technology investments through the power of
inter-enterprise event visibility. The enterprise platform will include APIs
designed to deliver real-time event and transaction data directly to other
IT applications for the supply chain, such as systems for procurement and
transportation management. Each enterprise deployment may be preceded by the
Tilion Jump Start program, a 90-day engagement hosted by Tilion that gives
companies the "try before you buy" benefit of Tilion's solutions.

The Tilion Solutions for Logistics and Supply Chain, combined with the
enterprise platform deployment, provides businesses with:

· Event management - provides real-time notification to exceptions within
processes, allowing users to respond to issues such as
purchase-order-to-sales-order mismatch, and resolve them before they
escalate into problems.

· Performance monitoring - analyzes and evaluates trading partner
performance and opens the door for improving future performance.

· Execution enablement - increases efficiency and effectiveness of existing
supply chain and logistics planning and execution applications.

Industry Demand for Solutions to Specific Problems

A recent study by Forrester Research supports a "solutions focus" in
delivering supply chain technologies. The report, which focuses on
Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) in the supply chain market, asserts that
in 2002, customers will want to buy and implement well-defined solutions
that solve specific business problems and deliver tangible value. These new
Tilion solutions are geared toward three specific business problems that
manufacturers and distributors have defined as critical for improved
execution: inventory management, inbound freight and shipment performance
management.

"Tilion is laser-focused on solutions that address the most critical pain
points we're hearing about in the marketplace," said Chris Stone, founder
and CEO of Tilion. "These new software solutions and our new deployment
model enable logistics managers to execute more profitable logistics and
supply chain plans and processes."

Improving Logistics & Supply Chain Execution Through Tilion Solutions

Tilion Solutions capture the information-delivery capabilities of its
enterprise software platform: 20 different analytic views; 64 pre-defined
alerts for better logistics and supply chain execution; and APIs to other
enterprise and supply chain applications. Tilion's solutions are:

· Logistics Execution: Inbound Freight - provides logistics managers with
visibility into incoming shipments, including estimated delivery times, as
well as the anticipated quantities and types of merchandise expected.

· Supply Chain Execution: Inventory Management - enables logistics managers
to optimize inventory levels, taking into consideration fulfillment,
projected needs and trading partners.

· Logistics Execution: Shipment Performance- using a scorecard system, it
provides logistics managers with insight into the overall performance of
their trading partners.

Tilion Professional Services can also create customized solutions for
customers for an additional cost, as needed.

"Enterprises are looking for targeted solutions to deliver rapid ROI for
well-defined business problems, such as event management tools that address
a specific business pain point," said Jeff Woods, senior analyst for
Gartner. "However, it is important for enterprises to look for solutions
that not only provide information and alerts, but also robust business logic
and collaboration functionality to enable users to respond to specific
scenarios that alerting systems point out."
