Subimo Selected by PacifiCare Health Systems as a Partner for Delivering Decision Support Tools to Members; Demand for Subimo's Tools Fueled by Innovative Products and Focus on Quality

CHICAGO--Jan. 25, 2002--Subimo, a provider of comprehensive, web-based health care decision support tools and information, today announced that Santa Ana, Calif.-based PacifiCare Health Systems (Nasdaq:PHSY), one of the nation's largest consumer health care companies, has licensed the Subimo Hospital Advisor tool for use by its health plan members. With Subimo's proprietary technology, PacifiCare's members are able to better understand their clinical options and identify which hospitals might be best for them for more than 30 different surgeries, including cesarean sections, mastectomies and open-heart surgery. Members can input and prioritize their own preferences, such as hospitals with teaching programs, high-volume or lower complication rates. Then they can obtain a list of PacifiCare-contracted hospitals that best meet their criteria along with interactive explanations, interpretations of data and additional issues or questions to consider.
