Stratify Support For Web Services Allows Millions of Application Developers To Easily Incorporate Unstructured Information Into Wide Range Of ApplicationsMOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. March 11, 2002 Stratify, Inc. today announced the industry's first Web services for unstructured data management. The new Stratify support for Web services enables easy and rapid application integration and development for unstructured data management using Internet standards. Using Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Web Services Description Language (WSDL) standards, the Stratify software platform allows developers to leverage the power and flexibility of Web services, making it easier to incorporate unstructured information into a wide range of applications, such as customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and sales force automation (SFA) systems. Stratify is the emerging leader in unstructured data management. Until now, enterprise developers lacked a standard method for accessing and integrating knowledge from unstructured documents into their critical applications, said Ramana Venkata, Stratify's chief technology officer. Stratify's Web services will enable applications across the enterprise to utilize the topic hierarchy and document classifications from the Stratify Discovery System to enhance business decision making, said Venkata. The Stratify support for Web services provides a standards-based interface to the core functionality of the Stratify Discovery System that organizes, classifies and presents large amounts of unstructured data within enterprises and government organizations. Stratify's new Web services interface are SOAP and WSDL compliant. SOAP provides a standard XML-messaging protocol that enables applications to make their functionality available to clients. WSDL specifies SOAP-interface requirements so that both client and server applications can implement and utilize the service. With Stratify's support of SOAP and WSDL, companies can now publish Stratify's Web services into a Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) directory. Also, developers operating in either Microsoft's .NET or JAVA 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) environments can now leverage the power of the Stratify Discovery System into their applications. An end-to-end enterprise software solution, the Stratify platform
brings structure to an enterprise's unstructured data, both internal
and external. This uniquely complete solution organizes and maintains
an enterprise's information hierarchy and consistently structures
the nearly 85 percent of previously unstructured enterprise data
into this hierarchical framework, facilitating new modes of leverage
by other enterprise applications. Stratify software solutions provide information firepower for many types of industries, including biotechnology, financial services, government and professional services. Founded in September 1999, Stratify is a privately held company that has received funding from Mobius Venture Capital (formerly Softbank Venture Capital), Intel Capital, H&Q Asia Pacific/At India, In-Q-Tel and Skyblaze Ventures LLC.
