CHICAGO, 05/21/02 — SmartViewer Web Server, which enables organizations to deliver interactive SPSS analytical reports to key audiences through a Web browser, is now available in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and Korean with English as the default language. SmartViewer Web Server 3.0.1 from SPSS Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSS) enables organizations to deliver native language output into a fully localized Web-based environment. SmartViewer Web Server 3.0.1 presents users with an interface that displays one of eight available languages, depending on the language to which their browser is set. Report content will always be presented in the language in which it is initially published.

“With this new version our customers can now match the language of their SmartViewer Web Server interface to that of the report content, and present their end users with an interface that is more appropriate to their locale,” says Marcus Hearne, SPSS Inc. marketing manager for SmartViewer Web Server. "In addition, SmartViewer Web Server 3.0.1 enables companies to expand the distribution of their analytical reports to a wider audience."

In addition to SPSS analytical reports, SmartViewer Web Server can also deliver reports generated from Microsoftâ Excel, Microsoftâ Word and other report software. Rather than work with traditional static reports, report viewers can use SPSS Inc.'s pivoting technology built into SmartViewer Web Server to rearrange rows, columns and layers.
