SIGGRAPH 2003 Calls for Participation; Annual International Conference Seeking Exceptional Work in Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques

CHICAGO, IL, Sept. 6, 2002 -- SIGGRAPH 2003, the 30th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques, which will be held 27 - 31 July, at the San Diego Convention Center, is seeking exceptional work for its programs and experiences as well as volunteers for its services. The Call for Participation is available at www.siggraph.org/s2003/cfp.

"Our industry is dynamic. Every year new research yields new techniques that enable greater creativity," said Alyn Rockwood, SIGGRAPH 2003 Conference Chair, from Colorado School of Mines. "Through our Call for Participation, the SIGGRAPH 2003 committee is seeking work from scientists, researchers, and educators that presents the latest technical advances as well as creative implementations of computer graphics technology in art, animation, gaming, interactivity, visualization, and Web applications."

The SIGGRAPH 2003 Call for Participation is looking for both first-time and veteran contributors in three areas: presentations, experiences, and services. The presentations are Courses, Educators Program, Papers, Sketches and Applications, and Web Graphics. The experiences are Art Gallery CG03: Computer Graphics 2003, Computer Animation Festival, and Emerging Technologies: Electronic Speedway. The call is also seeking volunteers and support for services, which are GraphicsNet, International Resources, Pathfinders, and Student Opportunities.
