Brio Software Delivers Performance Dashboards to Comerica Offices Throughout The U.S.

Combined Brio Software and IBM Solution Provides Thousands of Customer Relationship Managers with Customer, Product and Revenue Information

SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 29, 2003 -- Brio Software Inc. (Nasdaq: BRIO), a leading provider of next-generation business intelligence tools, today announced that Comerica Incorporated (NYSE: CMA) will utilize a Brio and IBM solution to provide 3,000 customer relationship managers with tools to quickly view dashboards, built with Brio's SQR(TM), to measure customer revenue, product usage and other performance criteria. One of Comerica's goals is to increase revenue by having customers utilize more Comerica products and services. Using SQR reporting and analysis tools, Comerica will measure how well relationship managers are meeting this objective by reporting revenue and the product portfolio associated with each customer. The initial deployment to corporate banking relationship managers will occur by September 2003, with all 3000 relationship managers using the solution by first quarter, 2004.

Brio and IBM proved the solution in a rigorous proof of concept. Brio's seamless integration with IBM and its intuitive user interface shield decision-makers from solution complexity. At Comerica, SQR accesses and analyzes data from an IBM DB2 data warehouse and then delivers it to users through a customized dashboard interface. SQR provides next-generation reporting tools that create dashboards against an IBM DB2 data warehouse. As employees click on their desktop icon, they are being securely logged into the Brio system to access the dashboards and underlying data they have permission to view.
