Comshare(R) and Business Objects Partner to Deliver Integrated Performance Management Solutions

Companies Announce Key Agreement to Leverage Technological Strengths

ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 23, 2003 -- Comshare, Incorporated (Nasdaq: CSRE), a leading provider of software applications for corporate performance management (CPM), today announced its relationship with Business Objects (Nasdaq: BOBJ), the world's leading provider of enterprise business intelligence (BI) solutions. Business Objects chose Comshare to participate in the Business Objects Open Financial Applications Initiative (OFAI), whereby the two companies will integrate technologies and enter into a marketing and sales agreement that includes both customer and partner initiatives. The OFAI initiative was created to support existing and planned investments in the growing corporate performance management space.

"The Business Objects Open Financial Applications Initiative has expanded our ability to offer customers a complete solution for managing the performance of their business," said Beverly Powell-Goldman, group vice president of strategic alliances, Business Objects. "By providing customers with an open solution, our mutual customers benefit from the integration of the Business Objects BI platform with Comshare MPC(TM), Comshare's CPM application. This strategic partnership leverages our mutual strengths to deliver an integrated solution that combines the strategic planning, budgeting, consolidation, and performance management of Comshare MPC, with the data integration and advanced reporting and analysis capabilities of the Business Objects BI platform."

Comshare MPC is an integrated, web-architected CPM solution that can quickly improve the efficiency of key business processes and the effectiveness of managers. Using the Business Objects BI platform with Comshare MPC as an integrated enterprise solution, companies gain real-time insights into business performance, web-based reporting and alerts, and the power to drill seamlessly into corporate data to extract useful information. The Business Objects OFAI program ensures that mutual customers can leverage their existing investments, while setting a strategic plan to improve and optimize performance across every department in the organization. This approach enables companies to drive performance management initiatives with the maximum amount of flexibility to achieve a rapid return on their investment.

"We see a particular opportunity for synergy with Business Objects in this initiative," said Dave King, senior vice president & CTO, Comshare. "Both companies offer solutions with open architectures, versus the mix of disparate, proprietary solutions required by other products. Together, Comshare and Business Objects are working to help our mutual customers gain greater value from their investments in our combined solutions. This partnership delivers a single management system that provides the technology platform to support companies with a driving need for implementing strategy."
