Survey Finds arcplan, Inc. Customers Develop, Implement, and Maintain Business Intelligence Solutions Quicker than Industry Average; arcplan dynaSight Product Positioning Reinforced

WAYNE, Pa., Feb. 11, 2003 -- arcplan, Inc., a leading business intelligence (BI) solution software provider, today released its 2002 Customer Survey results indicating arcplan customers using its dynaSight BI software develop applications in one-third of the time compared to the industry average.

Similarly, dynaSight customers enhance their applications in response to evolving business needs in less than half the time indicated per industry average.

The survey, sent out December 2002 to assess the efficiencies of the dynaSight platform, asked customers:

Q. How long did it take you to create and implement your first dynaSight application?

A. On average, arcplan customers take less than three months (2.97 months) to implement and develop applications with dynaSight. This compares favorably to the industry benchmark of 8.8 months for packaged applications and 9.0 months for custom developed applications reported in The Data Warehouse Institute (TDWI) 2002 report: "The Rise of Analytic Applications: Build or Buy?"

Q. How long did it take before you made the first modifications, driven by evolving business user needs?

A. On average, arcplan customers make enhancements to their dynaSight applications in just over one and one-half months (1.59 months). Responses to the same question in a recent DM Review 2002 Readership Survey reported the average useful life of an application to be just over three and one-half months (3.72 months).

"Our customers develop sophisticated analytic applications in one-third of the time, and manage to keep them current in response to evolving information needs driven by business, in less then half the time compared to industry benchmarks," said Koolen. "This means tremendous productivity improvements for our customers, with better analytic applications quickly delivered and maintained, to support business performance management."

Furthermore, customer comments reinforced arcplan's current positioning within the BI market space, noting ease and speed of development, versatility/flexibility of the platform, and access to multiple and disparate data sources as enduring strengths of the arcplan dynaSight solution.
