A New Solution for Activity and Cost Management in the Quebec Healthcare System

- Sacre-Coeur Hospital of Montreal Selects "Pyramid", CNC's Innovative Hospital Activity and Cost Management Software Solution

MONTREAL, Jan. 15, 2003 - Central Network Communications (CNC) Inc. (CNCW : OTC Other) is pleased to announce that Montreal's Sacre- Coeur Hospital will become one of the first establishments in Canada to implement its new hospital activity and cost management software solution "Pyramid". The latter will allow the Hospital to track and evaluate, among other parameters, the type and the cost of each activity per patient, thus greatly improving budget analysis and overall cost management.

The signing of this contract follows a feasibility study conducted last summer which concluded that Sacre-Coeur Hospital had all the right characteristics to effectively employ "Pyramid".

Carol Brunet, Executive Vice-President of CNC remarked: " This project is of great importance to CNC, making Sacre-Coeur Hospital a privileged technological showcase for rest of Quebec's healthcare system. It also represents the official marketing launch of the "Pyramid" solution. The confidence shown in our product by such a large-scale establishment highlights CNC's technology and know-how."

A NEW SOFTWARE SOLUTION FOR THE QUEBEC HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

"Pyramid" is one of the first software solutions in Quebec enabling healthcare establishments to fully evaluate detailed direct and indirect costs of clinical and medical activities. The integration of cost and medical data allows institutions to distinguish costs per patient, diagnosis, activity centre, length of stay and others. Consequently, healthcare managers are able to drastically reduce their operating costs and make well-informed decisions - greatly improving their medical and financial performance. For the last two years, CNC has focused its efforts on adapting the "Pyramid" solution to the context and needs of the Quebec and Canadian healthcare systems.

"Sacre-Coeur Hospital of Montreal is very pleased, as an innovator, to acquire this powerful decision-making tool. With this kind of information technology solution, our whole team will now be able to rely on precise and real-time data. Before, such data would be available only after several months of manual work and research, even then providing only a limited view of the actual situation." added Michel Lariviere, General Manager of Sacre-Coeur Hospital of Montreal.

Implementation work is scheduled to begin in January, ending in June 2003. CNC will be supported by its partner, CIM Facility Planning & Management, who will provide consulting and change management services, clinical and financial data integration, process management and training sessions for the end-user of Pyramid solution.
