Call for Papers: 7th International Conference of the International Society for Decision Support Systems (ISDSS'03), "DSS in the Uncertainty of the Internet Age", Ustron, Poland, July 13-16, 2003January 31, 2003 - The 7th International Conference of the International Society for Decision Support Systems (ISDSS'03) will be held in Ustron, Poland, July 13-16, 2003. The theme of the conference is "DSS in the Uncertainty of the Internet Age". The Conference Chair is Prof. Tong X. Bui, University of Hawaii and the Conference Co-Chair is Prof. Henryk Sroka, University of Economics in Katowice, Poland. Based on the requests of some of the Program Committee members, the deadline for submissions to ISDSS'03 has been extended to Feb. 28, 2003. Please advertise this change. Deadline for submission: 28th February 2003 Topics of interest Original research papers on the design, development and implementation, and use of decision support systems are solicited. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to: Knowledge-Based and intelligent systems, knowledge management; Workflow management, organizational support systems, executive systems; Data warehousing, data mining and knowledge discovery systems; Interorganizational systems, partnerships, networked and virtual enterprises; Electronic commerce, cybermarketing, electronic payment; Discovering structures in web data; Web security; Web agents and applications; Distributed decision making; Information and decision support via the web; Decision and business integration on the web (ERP, Supply Chain Management, etc.), Mobile - Decision Support Systems, Mobile commerce. Instructions for Submitting Papers Original, unpublished papers, limited to 5000 words, should be submitted electronically (in Microsoft Word RTF format) before February 28, 2003. All submissions will be double blind reviewed. Selection for presentation at the conference and publication in the proceedings will be based on originality, contribution to the field and relevance to the conference. We particularly invite papers related to distributed and remote decisions (Mobile - DSS), approaches to reasoning with uncertainty in the Internet Age, new patterns and solutions about decision making in organization and society (e-government), new web technologies, and emerging standards for web data management. A book of the full proceedings will be distributed at the conference. Submissions should be sent by e-mail to: isdss@ae.katowice.pl. The intention is that selected papers will be published in academic journals. Conference Fee The conference fee is EU 320 when fully paid before May 15, 2003, and EU 370 for late registrations. The fee includes the proceedings book, a CD-ROM version of the proceedings, refreshments, and social events. The cost of accommodation varies according to standard (hotel room, apartment), from EU 50 to EU 150. Conference Site ISDSS'03 will be hosted by the Department of Computer Science of the Karol Adamiecki University of Economics in Katowice. The Conference will be held in Ustron at the Hotel "BELWEDER" (http://www.hotelbelweder.pl). Ustron is situated 40 miles from Katowice, at 431 meters above sea level, in the picturesque valley of the Vistula (Wisla) river in the western part of the Silesian Beskid mountains. It is surrounded by forests and beautiful mountains from 640 to 1221 meters of height, full of perfect destinations for hikers and cyclists (from west it is surrounded by the lofty Mounts of Mala Czantoria and Wielka Czantoria (995m), from the east - by an arm of Mount Rownica (885)). There are excellent tourist facilities and a wide choice of conference centers. The University's DSS conferences have been held in the Wisla area for 20 years.
