Intergraph's IntelliWhere Division and Trimble Team to Deliver Mobile Resource Management Solutions

Real-time accessibility to enterprisewide geospatial data

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. and SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 4, 2003 - Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions' IntelliWhere(TM) division and Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) today announced a worldwide business partnership to offer solutions for mobile resource management that take advantage of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology.

As part of the business partner agreement, IntelliWhere will integrate its open technology such as IntelliWhere OnDemand software with Trimble products such as the GeoExplorer(R) CE handheld series, and resell these as combined solutions. IntelliWhere, a software and solutions infrastructure provider, leverages open geographic information system (GIS) technology to deliver real-time, location-based information to and from an organization's field workforce.

Pairing IntelliWhere solutions with Trimble mapping and GIS products will enable transportation, utility, and telecommunications companies as well as government agencies and the military to maximize access to geospatial data and streamline time-consuming field procedures. This combined solution provides up-to-date GPS-based location information that allows more informed decision making regarding in-field assets.

"GPS-based location information has become a necessity to achieve greater operating efficiencies by linking the field and office," said Alan Townsend, vice president and general manager of Trimble's Field Solutions Division. "By combining our rugged GeoExplorer CE handheld series with IntelliWhere's easy-to-use software, we are providing organizations with an innovative solution to streamline their workflow."

Preetha Pulusani, president of Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions, commented, "We are pleased to offer our mutual customers combined Trimble and IntelliWhere technologies and expertise for the location-based services markets in the mobile space. The Trimble partnership will further leverage our ability to deliver location-enabled, real-time technology enterprisewide by taking advantage of IntelliWhere's device, data, and platform independent solutions."
