Titan Awarded $69 Million Multiyear GSA Task Order to Provide Geospatial Information and Services Support to Pacific USAF BasesSAN DIEGO, May 22, 2003 -- The Titan Corporation (NYSE: TTN) announced today that the General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM) has issued the company a multiyear task order to provide Geospatial Information and Services (GI&S) support for the U.S. Air Force's worldwide GeoBase program through 2010. Awarded through GSA's Millennia Lite contracting vehicle, the initial task order from this award is expected to be $69 million with no specific contract ceiling, and provides for support to all Air Force bases located within the USAF's Pacific Air Forces (PACAF). Because other Major Commands and DoD units may also use the task order for GI&S support, the value of this task order is expected ultimately to surpass $69 million. "Due to the real-world deployment requirements and huge geographical challenges the Air Force faces, PACAF has a critical need for leading-edge GI&S support that enables better enterprise installation management and forward deployment," said Gene Ray, Titan's chairman, president, and CEO. "We have been providing enterprise GI&S support to the U.S. Air Force since 1990, and this PACAF effort will serve as a model for GeoBase implementation across the Air Force." Through this award, Titan will provide Legacy Systems Migration, New Enterprise Systems Development and related GI&S support, including mission-critical support, to the U.S. Air Force GeoBase Program and other Air Force major commands and DoD organizations worldwide -- to attain and maintain GeoBase and related programs. Headquartered at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, PACAF is one of nine major Air Force commands with an area of responsibility that covers more than 100 million square miles, extending from the west coast of the United States to the east coast of Africa and from the Arctic to the Antarctic. The command has approximately 45,000 military and civilian personnel serving in nine major locations and numerous smaller facilities, primarily in Hawaii, Alaska, Japan, Guam and South Korea. FEDSIM is a program under the GSA Federal Technology Service providing over $1.4 billion per year in large-scale systems integration support to other federal agencies. Millennia Lite is a $20 billion multiple-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract offering multiyear IT services to federal agencies worldwide. Headquartered in San Diego, The Titan Corporation is a leading provider of comprehensive information and communications systems solutions and services to the Department of Defense, intelligence agencies, and other federal government customers. The company has approximately 10,500 employees and current annualized sales of approximately $1.5 billion.
