Documentum Redefines Content Globalization

Teams With TRADOS and Lionbridge to Integrate Cost-Effective Globalization Functionality With the Documentum Enterprise Content Management Platform

PLEASANTON, Calif., Nov. 4, 2003 -- Documentum (Nasdaq: DCTM), the leader in enterprise content management (ECM), today announced a new joint offering with TRADOS, the global leader in language technology, and Lionbridge (Nasdaq: LIOX), a leading provider of globalization and testing services. Extending existing partnerships, the three companies have worked together to integrate the TRADOS Language Server(TM) with Documentum 5, the latest version of the company's ECM platform. With this announcement, Documentum becomes the first and only content management vendor to integrate key language technology directly into its content management platform.

Multinational corporations are looking for more efficient and cost-effective ways to manage their global content. Until now, these companies have managed the content globalization process outside of their content management system, by deploying costly, standalone applications, using time-consuming manual processes, or losing control of language assets. By integrating the TRADOS language technology with the Documentum ECM platform, customers can dramatically reduce translation costs, store and reuse previously translated content, accelerate the delivery of content to global markets and have direct, centralized control over their translated content.

The TRADOS Language Server(TM) for Documentum combines translation memory and terminology management modules with the Documentum ECM platform to enable global customers to capture, store and reuse localized content that has been previously translated. The terminology management module helps customers standardize their brand, improve quality and consistency and meet regulatory requirements. As a strategic partner to both Documentum and TRADOS, Lionbridge will provide globalization services to deliver the complete multilingual content management solution.

Documentum, TRADOS and Lionbridge will present this joint solution at Momentum, Documentum's annual user conference, November 9-12 2003, in New Orleans.

"Documentum continues to lead the way in delivering truly global content management solutions," said Rob Tarkoff, executive vice president and chief strategic officer for Documentum. "This new solution for the first time puts content globalization where it belongs, within the content management system, as another step in the content lifecycle."

"The incorporation of language technology into content management systems has always been part of our vision and extends the footprint of language technology into the heart of the enterprise where it matters most. By teaming with leaders in ECM and globalization services, we ensure that customers have access to best-of-breed solutions for their multilingual needs," said Dev Ganesan, CEO of TRADOS.

"This solution is the result of three industry leaders coming together to accomplish a common goal -- enabling organizations to reduce the complexity and cost of global content management," said Rory Cowan, CEO, Lionbridge. "We've created a turnkey flexible language solution that brings together the industry's best in language technology, globalization services and enterprise content management."
