Philadelphia, PA, Oct. 31, 2003 -- All those interested in research in the area of Decision Support Systems are invited to attend the First Annual Pre-ICIS Workshop on Decision Support Systems.

OVERVIEW AND GOALS

Organized by SIGDSS, this workshop will explore issues surrounding the design and use of Decision Support Systems. The workshop will provide a forum for presentation and discussion of research regarding systems which support managerial decision-making through both knowledge management and data management. This includes the design, history, theory, practice, methods and techniques, new developments, and applications of computing technologies to support decision processes and decision-making by individuals, groups and organizations.

Specifically, the goal of the inaugural workshop is to bring interested researchers together in order to provide networking opportunities for the academic community interested in these topics.

PROGRAM

The program is shaping up to be both busy and exciting, with papers on a wide variety of topics. The program will include 12 regular paper presentations, three poster presentations, and four invited paper presentations. We are also in the process of planning a panel to be held during the lunch session.

The schedule is available online at http://mis.temple.edu/sigdss/icis03/fullProgram.htm or see the tentative schedule below.

REGISTRATION

You can register for the workshop through the ICIS 2003 website at the same time as you register for the conference. The registration fee is $80, which includes lunch.
