Mindspeed(TM) Technologies Adopts Joint GRIC - Axcelerant Solution For Outside The Firewall Access

Leading Semiconductor Company to Obtain Secure Access from Outside Corporate Firewall for Both Mobile and Remote Workers with Single Solution

MILPITAS, Calif., Oct. 6, 2003 -- GRIC Communications (Nasdaq: GRIC), a leading provider of secure enterprise mobility solutions, today announced that Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. (Amex: MND), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, has adopted GRIC MobileOffice and Axcelerant, Inc.'s Secure Broadband Telework service as a combined solution to manage all corporate network access from outside its corporate firewall.

GRIC announced last month that it was acquiring Axcelerant so that it could provide customers with the same high level of secure access for fixed remote workers as it can for mobile workers. Mindspeed has relied on Axcelerant's broadband managed VPN services since 1999 at which time it was a division of Conexant Systems. Today more than 200 remote users are securely connected to the Mindspeed corporate network through Axcelerant's Secure Broadband Telework service.
