Bühler AG chooses Stellent's Universal Content Management to power global intranet

Stellent-powered system to improve quality and consistency of information, automate document-intensive business processes

MUNICH, GERMANY, Oct. 28, 2003 -- Stellent GmbH, the Munich-based subsidiary of Stellent, Inc. (Nasdaq: STEL), a global provider of content management solutions, announced today that Bühler AG, a manufacturer of production and processing systems for the food, chemical engineering and die casting industries, has selected Stellentıs Universal Content Management to manage business documents and Web content across its global intranet. Bühler is based in Uzwil, Switzerland and employs more than 6,300 employees in 140 countries.

Buhler is implementing its Stellent-powered intranet to improve the overall quality and consistency of published product information and internal Web sites, and to automate business processes throughout the enterprise. "The comprehensive functionality of the Stellent solution -- especially the ability to create content using standard MS Office tools -- was very important to us," said Rolf Gehring, team manager of software engineering at Bühler. "The fact that these capabilities will allow us to easily automate document-oriented business processes and harmonise our worldwide content management landscape was a critical factor driving our decision."

A primary goal of Bühlerıs intranet initiative is to considerably reduce IT administration costs related to the creation and maintenance of product documentation and Web content. Stellent Content Management enables the company to meet this goal by allowing business users, rather than only IT staff, to create and maintain information using standard desktop tools and by supporting the re-use of content across multiple portals, Web sites and applications, while automatically maintaining a consistent format and appearance across all sites developed by subsidiaries and divisions. In addition, Stellent helps Bühler securely manage content throughout its organization by ensuring only authorized users are able to create, edit and publish product and company information.

"We are delighted a global company such as Bühler has selected Stellent," said Josef Huber, managing director of Stellent Central Europe. "Bühlerıs decision shows how global companies can use modern technologies to develop new, high-quality products and services, optimise company processes, and increase productivity. Lifecycle automation of company-critical documents is decisive in attaining a leading competitive position."
