Bangkok Airways Extends Sabre Airline Solutions Suite to Create Systems Operations CenterAirline Joins Impressive List of Asia Pacific Carriers Utilizing Sabre Airline Solutions for Operations SOUTHLAKE, Texas, Sept. 9, 2003 -- Bangkok Airways and Sabre Airline Solutions have signed a five-year contract that will see the airline create a Systems Operation Center (SOC). This contract is in addition to the reservation hosting and departure control contract signed earlier this year. With a renewed emphasis on flight efficiency and the addition of routes, the SOC will oversee daily airline operations. This includes the maximization of payload capability for individual flights; the optimization of fuel savings through better route and altitude planning; and immediate access to flight schedules, aircraft routing, payload, passenger connection, aircraft configuration and airport information. Bangkok Airways will implement products from the Sabre Flight Control suite including Sabre AirPath-360 Flight Planning System and Sabre FliteTrac operations control and flight following system. These products will be integrated with the existing Sabre SteadyState Weight and Balance System, which Bangkok Airways implemented at the beginning of this year. Alain Bergeron, flight control director at Bangkok Airways said this recent contract signing complements systems implemented by Sabre Airline Solutions previously. "Bangkok Airways aims to have a Systems Operation Center which will improve our yield and lower our optimization costs," said Bergeron. "With the introduction of this latest Sabre Airline Solutions product suite, we are once again able to integrate with our in-house technologies in order to improve our efficiencies. All this while still adhering to Government and airline guidelines." Michael Baldwin, Sabre Airline Solutions senior vice president, Asia Pacific said Bangkok Airways joins many Asia Pacific carriers utilizing Sabre Airline Solutions' proven product suites. "Bangkok Airways joins an impressive list of airlines with a Systems Operations Center developed by Sabre Airline Solutions. These include China Southern, China Eastern, Virgin Blue and Air New Zealand," said Baldwin. "With such a proven solution, Bangkok Airways will quickly benefit from an integrated system, enabling the airline to improve its competitive position as a premium airline in the Asia Pacific region." Bangkok Airways currently operates a fleet of Boeing 717 and ATR aircraft for domestic services within Thailand, as well as international services to regional destinations.
