Intergraph Demonstrates Customer Success with Geospatial Resource Management Systems

Unprecedented openness key to customer success

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., April 25, 2004 - At this year's GITA conference (Seattle, Wash.), Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions will demonstrate unprecedented openness and interoperability in its high-performance Geospatial Resource Management solutions (GRM) for utility and communications companies and municipalities. GRM solutions help organizations reduce redundant processes and bring more efficiency to the capture, design and analysis of network asset information and the management of resources involved in service delivery.

"Our vision is to help customers improve business processes today while protecting technology investments and choice for the future," said Arthur Spencer, Executive Vice President, Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions. "Intergraph is giving organizations a competitive edge with truly open technology that's performance driven and scalable."

Examples of gas, pipeline, water/wastewater, electric, communications companies and public agency customers around the globe that have selected and deployed Intergraph solutions within the past year include BSNL (India); City of Hamilton (Canada); City of Volta-Redonda (Brazil); E.ON Bayern AG (Germany); Interoute (UK); Madison Gas and Electric (U.S.); PT.PLN Batam (Indonesia); Shanghai Telecom (China); Telecom Fiji (Fiji); N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie (Netherlands); West-Vlaamse Energie- en Teledistributiemaatschappij -WVEM (Belgium); and Yarra Valley Water (Australia).

Intergraph's booth will feature customer Snohomish County Public Utility District (PUD). Demonstrations will show how PUD integrates spatial data with corporate systems to allow enterprisewide data access and better decision support. Connecting field workers, dispatchers and office personnel has allowed Snohomish County PUD to better provide electric and water service to approximately 300,000 customers.

"Having readily available information in the same format accessible to workers in the field, at headquarters and at site offices has given us many quantifiable benefits," said Leon Borden, Manager, IS/GIS, Snohomish County PUD. "We've realized significant time savings in troubleshooting and restoration, improved communication in the organization and made more informed decisions."

Also on display is Intergraph's GRM environment for geographic information systems (GIS), outage management, mobile workforce management and engineering analysis. For more information about Intergraph's solutions, visit http://imgs.intergraph.com/solutions/.
