Geac Integrates its Performance Management Offerings With Multiple Geac Back-Office Product FamiliesGeac accelerates its execution of key strategy: Extend value of customers' investments in Geac ERP and industry-specific applications CHICAGO and MARKHAM, ON, May 10, 2004 - Geac(R) (TSX: GAC, NASDAQ: GEAC) today announced it has integrated its Geac Performance Management software into several Geac ERP and industry-specific applications, further leveraging the company's front-office software assets and offering customers a means to significantly extend the value of their investments in Geac back-office systems. Geac System21 Aurora, Geac SmartStream, Geac AMSI and Geac's EnterpriseServer product lines now or will soon offer integrated performance management functionality based upon software Geac acquired through its purchase last year of Comshare, Inc. Geac Performance Management is an integrated product line that enables companies to bolster their effectiveness by tightening the linkage between business strategy formulation and operational execution, and by improving measurement, reporting, and decision-making. Geac Performance Management comprises modules for planning, budgeting, expense and travel management, forecasting, financial consolidation, and reporting and analysis. Geac announced the new Geac Performance Management integrations at its annual ALLIANCE North American customer conference, being held this week in Chicago. "Geac is committed to integrating performance management capabilities into every Geac enterprise product line, and into our ISAs as appropriate. We're executing briskly against that strategy, and delivering considerable incremental value to our existing customers in the process," Charles S. Jones, Geac's President and CEO, said. "These integration initiatives also demonstrate Geac's determination to maximize the value of our Comshare acquisition, which has given Geac valuable software assets that provide the foundation for new revenue opportunities." As previously announced, in Geac's third fiscal quarter existing Geac E and M Series customers represented some 30% of the Geac Performance Management sales prospect pipeline. Now, with continuing Geac Performance Management integrations to more Geac product lines, including System21 and SmartStream, the company expects to benefit from additional opportunities to cross-sell its products. New Geac Performance Management integrations within targeted Geac product lines include:
These capabilities are in addition to the integration functionality announced in January that enables many Geac EnterpriseServer (E Series and M Series) customers to significantly streamline the process of tying Geac Performance Management applications to their existing Geac mainframe-based financial systems. "Integrating Geac Performance Management capabilities into key Geac back-office product lines has been a development priority at Geac for nearly a year, and these initial deliverables mark only the first phase of an ongoing process," Tim Wright, Geac's Chief Technology Officer, said. "We will continue to look for new ways to leverage our performance management assets across the Geac product array, in both our Enterprise and Industry Specific lines of business."
