Geac Integrates its Performance Management Offerings With Multiple Geac Back-Office Product Families

Geac accelerates its execution of key strategy: Extend value of customers' investments in Geac ERP and industry-specific applications

CHICAGO and MARKHAM, ON, May 10, 2004 - Geac(R) (TSX: GAC, NASDAQ: GEAC) today announced it has integrated its Geac Performance Management software into several Geac ERP and industry-specific applications, further leveraging the company's front-office software assets and offering customers a means to significantly extend the value of their investments in Geac back-office systems. Geac System21 Aurora, Geac SmartStream, Geac AMSI and Geac's EnterpriseServer product lines now or will soon offer integrated performance management functionality based upon software Geac acquired through its purchase last year of Comshare, Inc.

Geac Performance Management is an integrated product line that enables companies to bolster their effectiveness by tightening the linkage between business strategy formulation and operational execution, and by improving measurement, reporting, and decision-making. Geac Performance Management comprises modules for planning, budgeting, expense and travel management, forecasting, financial consolidation, and reporting and analysis.

Geac announced the new Geac Performance Management integrations at its annual ALLIANCE North American customer conference, being held this week in Chicago.

As previously announced, in Geac's third fiscal quarter existing Geac E and M Series customers represented some 30% of the Geac Performance Management sales prospect pipeline. Now, with continuing Geac Performance Management integrations to more Geac product lines, including System21 and SmartStream, the company expects to benefit from additional opportunities to cross-sell its products.

New Geac Performance Management integrations within targeted Geac product lines include:

  • System21 Performance Analyzer - This new module gives end users access to financial and non-financial data within System21 and provides analysis capabilities to enable better decision making and improve operational performance and agility. System21 Performance Analyzer enables organizations and individuals to set key performance measurements and then monitor and react to their progress.

  • System21 Budget Management - This new module will address the causes of budgeting delays. It transforms budgeting into a dynamic, collaborative process and, with its integration to System21 Financials, supports Actual/Variance reporting and rolling budgets and forecasts.

  • SmartStream Performance Management - Geac will offer "out of the box" integration functionality that enables Geac SmartStream customers to tie Geac Performance Management applications to their existing Geac client/server-based back-office systems. The introduction of this new integration capability will significantly streamline Geac Performance Management implementations at SmartStream customer sites.

  • Geac AMSI Portfolio Reporting - Part of Geac's Web-based property management solution, AMSI Portfolio Reporting gives property owners and managers the ability to do cross property reporting to easily monitor key indicators of overall portfolio performance and property specific performance. This online tool to perform data consolidation, reporting and analysis empowers property owners and managers to transform business data into business intelligence for improved decision making.

These capabilities are in addition to the integration functionality announced in January that enables many Geac EnterpriseServer (E Series and M Series) customers to significantly streamline the process of tying Geac Performance Management applications to their existing Geac mainframe-based financial systems.
