PeopleSoft Delivers Industry's Most Comprehensive Packaged Business Intelligence and Analytics Platform

New PeopleSoft Enterprise Warehouse 8.8 Reduces Total Cost of Ownership and Simplifies Information Integration

PLEASANTON, Calif., Dec. 2, 2002 -- PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT) today announced the availability of PeopleSoft Enterprise Warehouse 8.8. The new solution provides organizations with pre-packaged analytic content, a portal interface, and Web services capabilities that can reduce the cost and time of deploying, managing and delivering enterprise analytics. The Enterprise Warehouse enables customers to have immediate access to a consistent view of enterprise data and pre-defined business metrics to make more effective and timely business decisions.

"Organizations that have successfully implemented and utilized analytic applications have realized a median return on investment of 112 percent, based on IDC's `Financial Impact of Business Analytics Study'," said Henry Morris, group vice president, Application and Information access at IDC. "A packaged warehouse, such as PeopleSoft's Enterprise Warehouse, provides value by pre-defining processes and content, thereby reducing the time to get consistent reporting and analysis. It also provides a framework for deploying analytic applications that can positively impact an organization's bottom line."

As part of the AppConnect product suite, the new Enterprise Warehouse 8.8 can be used with PeopleSoft's Enterprise Portal and leverages integration technology and Web services to deliver analytics for any business applications. The Enterprise Warehouse consists of an operational data store for offline reporting, a data warehouse for hosting analytical applications, and pre-defined data marts for multi-dimensional analysis. The solution also includes more than 1,200 pre-defined business metrics that are delivered in portals, applications, or OLAP tools.

Danske Bank is using PeopleSoft's Enterprise Warehouse and Enterprise Performance Management solutions as an integrated part of the performance management carried out in the Bank. "PeopleSoft's Enterprise Warehouse automates the collection of data and facilitates `one version of corporate truth,' enabling our business units to use their time analyzing and understanding the data in contrast to just gathering it," says Thomas Johansen, first vice president, IT at Danske Bank. "As a result, we can now focus on our core business activities, which increase shareholder value."

Additionally, the PeopleSoft Enterprise Warehouse includes a best-in-class extract, transform, and load (ETL) tool customers can use to consolidate data from any business application for real-time analysis.

"While others are downsizing and divesting, PeopleSoft continues to invest in developing innovative data warehousing and analytic technology," said Peter Gassner, vice president and general manager, PeopleSoft Technology. "By connecting applications at the data level, the Enterprise Warehouse provides a business intelligence platform that serves the analytics needs of the real-time enterprise."
