ProClarity Signs Partnership Agreement to Provide Integrated Analytics for Healthcare Payer Practice of CGI
ProClarity to Empower CGI Healthcare Payer Clients to Seamlessly Explore and Analyze Their Claims Data
BOISE, Idaho, September 30, 2002 - ProClarity Corporation, an award-winning provider of innovative analytic solutions for the enterprise, today announced that it has signed an OEM agreement with the healthcare payer practice of CGI. In order to provide integrated and comprehensive analytic capabilities to their healthcare payer clients, CGI selected ProClarity to include the advanced visualization and data exploration capabilities of the ProClarity(r) Analytic Platform into its CAS product line.
CGI is the fourth largest independent information technology company in North America based on headcount. Its healthcare payer practice offers a comprehensive line of services and software solutions to ensure healthcare claims integrity and accuracy. This wide range of offerings is designed to enable payers to achieve appropriate reimbursement and protect provider relations.
CGI's CAS 3.0 application is a leading-edge web-based audit management tool for powering the detection, investigation, and management of fraud and abuse in the healthcare industry. With an installed history of over seven years with payers ranging in size from 60,000 members to over 3 million members, CAS is a proven system. With integrated ProClarity, CAS users now have the ability to drill down into the audit and claims data to investigate, analyze and audit results.
"We realized that in order for the claims and fraud data that our clients collect to be valuable, it had to be actionable. Our search for an analytics solution to do that led us to ProClarity," said Robert Rolf, principal in CGI's healthcare practice. "ProClarity was the only analytic tool that met our requirements for drilling into and viewing audit management data. We were able to seamlessly integrate ProClarity into CAS and deliver it to market within three weeks. ProClarity empowers our clients to independently explore their data without wasting scarce IT resources. Once our clients identify an aberration, they can drill through their data and have a result that is immediately actionable within our auditing framework. That is extremely powerful."
CGI has developed leading edge processes and tools for healthcare payer clients nationally, including nearly one-half of the Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, commercial insurers, managed care plans, state Medicaid agencies, CMS (formerly HCFA), and the OIG. CGI's systems identify aberrant claims behavior and billing patterns, which if unresolved, result in claims overpayments.
"We are very pleased to have been selected by CGI's healthcare payer practice to power the analytics for their clinical auditing and fraud and abuse solutions," said Dave Hallmen, VP of Worldwide Operations for ProClarity Corporation. "We look forward to working together to provide their clients with the ability to easily access, analyze and act upon the data they collect. The fact that CGI was able to integrate ProClarity into their CAS solution within three weeks is a testament to the ease of use and the ability to rapidly deploy analytics with the ProClarity Analytics Platform."
