Crystal Decisions' Acknowledges CI0-100 Award Winner Huntington National Bank

Huntington National Bank Recognized for Innovative and Resourceful Approach to Technology

PALO ALTO, CA, Aug. 21, 2003 - Crystal Decisions, a leading global provider of Business Intelligence software and services, proudly acknowledges Huntington National Bank as a recipient of the 16th Annual CIO-100 Awards. Winners were announced in the August 15th issue of CIO magazine. Chosen for their exemplary use of information technology, Huntington National Bank received the award on August 19, 2003 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

"We are proud to acknowledge Huntington National Bank's achievements as they are honored with this prestigious award," said Jon Judge, President and Chief Executive Officer of Crystal Decisions. "Crystal Decisions and Huntington National Bank have a similar business and leadership philosophy. We are both dedicated to inspiring our employees and customers and succeeding against all odds. We are delighted that they are being recognized for their positive business performance through resourceful IT management and practices."

Selected among this year's winners for its initiatives and achievements by its Information Systems and Services (ISS) division, Huntington Bank is recognized for their resourceful use of technology and related assets in a tough economic climate. Achievements include successful cost optimization programs; innovative team building efforts; effective internal and external communication methods; actions to improve technology project business cases; effective partnering with external technology partners; and, initiatives to improve the linkages between IT and the business units that are leading to improved efficiencies, productivity and higher return on IT investments.

Despite being in a conservative industry, Huntington has made bold moves in purchasing and implementing technology solutions for their company. For example, Huntington Bank uses Crystal Decisions to replace paper reports with more effective, dynamic business tools, while also standardizing on fewer reporting technologies. A single printed report converted to Crystal Reports at Huntington contained more than 2.4 million pages per year. This and many other reports can now be accessed via the Web-based system for reporting, analysis and information delivery. The Crystal Decisions implementation significantly reduces complexity, streamlines processes and lowers operating and support costs.

"We are excited and very honored to be amongst the list of winners for this years CIO 100 Award," said Joe Gottron, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at The Huntington National Bank. "We have invested considerable time and energy developing 'win-win' relationships with key external technology partners, like Crystal Decisions. These partnerships are making us stronger on many fronts - and in the process - enhancing our ability to deliver highly valuable products and services to our external and internal customers."
