from DSSResources.comPDT by IDELIX a top performer at CWID 2005March 14, 2006 - Vancouver, BC - IDELIX Software Inc. announced today that PDT- enabled Image Access Solutions (IAS) were praised as top performers in operator evaluations during Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID) 2005 emergency simulations. The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) sponsored IDELIX in the annual event held by the Chairman of the Joint Chief's of Staff. The 2005 demonstration featured over 50 technology trials from 60 industry participants at agencies located in nearly two dozen countries - all vying to meet core objectives defined by combat commanders. PDT by IDELIX was integrated into RSI's IAS viewers. The combined technologies enhanced display, coordination and distribution of information in environments where bandwidth was constrained. "It [PDT-enabled IAS] was, by and large, the most impressive thing that I looked at during all of CWID2005. It's a keeper," said one operator. Ten different international agencies, including USNORTHCOM and CFEC Shirley's Bay, evaluated the tools. "I was really impressed, as were other members of my section at work, with the significant increase in operational capabilities that the agile/PDT software package would represent," said another operator. Improvements in both surveillance and reconnaissance were also reported. Along with defense, PDT has applications in emergency response. During several CWID simulations, operators had to quickly survey large photos to assess damage, quickly create mission plans, and disseminate the information to many people over constrained bandwidth. As a result of the success of PDT-enabled IAS in these simulations, IDELIX and RSI were called upon to help in Katrina relief efforts. "CWID is a forum where homeland defense, civilian agencies, and coalition partners get to test people, products, and processes to see how they work together before disasters really strike," said Keith Ippel, IDELIX President. "We're thrilled that PDT has proven itself in these trials and was able to help operators accomplish their missions with greater speed and accuracy." Details for the CWID 2005 trials are publicly available at http://www.cwid.js.mil. About IDELIX IDELIX specializes in the design and integration of Pliable Display Technology (PDT), an advanced user interface for "detail-in-context" data viewing and manipulation. PDT aids comprehension by enhancing data visualization and interaction, de-cluttering multi-layered geospatial imagery, maps, video, Web and other converged content. Combining PDT with partner and customer applications, IDELIX is improving the way businesses and individuals view and edit information. IDELIX partners Boeing S&IS Mission Systems, Harris Corporation, ITT Industries, Defense Research and Development Canada, and the US National Geospatial- Intelligence Agency have already recognized the value-added impact of including PDT in their software and Web-based applications. About IAS Image Access Solutions (IAS) by RSI, a wholly owned subsidiary of ITT Technologies, is client-server architecture that leverages the wavelet-based features of JPEG 2000 to deliver enhanced image compression and image streaming capabilities. IAS delivers both lossless and lossy compression to deliver files up to 30% smaller than traditional JPEG files without losing visual image quality. The IAS Converter 2.0.1 has been National Imagery Transmission Format (NITF) certified by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). IAS is also Department of Defense Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) approved. Learn more at http://www.rsinc.com/ias. IDELIX Software Inc. Brad Zaytsoff Marketing & Communications Manager Tel.
