International Association for Information and Data Quality conference, San Francisco, October 16-19, 2006

San Francisco, CA, September 6, 2006 -- The International Association for Information and Data Quality (IAIDQ) is pleased to announce its upcoming 2006 North America Information & Data Quality (IDQ) Conference.

The conference will run from the 16th to the 19th of October at the Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf Hotel in San Francisco, California. Keynote speakers include:

Ted Friedman, VP for Data Integration and Data Quality with Gartner Inc

The 2006 Information and Data Quality Conference will feature over 50 speakers, including 16 corporate case studies from organizations including Bank of America, Altria, Nike, AOL, Wells Fargo, Allstate Insurance and Genentech.

Attendees will hear about the methods, products and best practices that organizations around the world are using to improve the quality of data within Customer Data Integration, CRM, ERP, Data Warehouse, BI and Supply Chain systems, and how they are meeting the requirements of Data Governance and Compliance legislation.

The conference program features

Full day and half day tutorial sessions on key issues in Information and Data Quality Management from top thought leaders in the field, including David Loshin and Larry English. Case studies and other presentations from leading practitioners dealing with the realities of managing data and information quality ‘in the field'. In addition, the conference provides an opportunity for delegates to hear the thoughts of the IAIDQ Founders (Dr. Thomas Redman and Larry English) on the Future of Information and Data Quality.

Uniquely, this conference closes with a Practitioners Panel that will focus on how to apply insights gained at the conference, further emphasizing the importance and value of peer-to-peer learning.

Dr. A Blanton Godfrey

Dr. A. Blanton Godfrey (Blan) is Dean and Joseph D. Moore Professor of Textile & Apparel Technology & Management, College of Textiles, North Carolina State University. The College is the leading institution of its type in the world and produces over half the doctorates in its field in the United States. Prior to joining NC State in 2000, Blan was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Juran Institute, Inc., the leading international management consulting, research, and training organization focused on quality management and business excellence, a position he held for thirteen years. Prior to Juran Institute, Blan was Head of the Quality Theory and Technology Department of AT&T Bell Laboratories. For nineteen years Blan was also an Adjunct Professor in Columbia University 's School of Engineering and Applied Science where he taught graduate courses in quality management and control. He has also been a guest lecturer in clinical quality management at Harvard Uni versity. Blan is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, the American Society for Quality, the World Academy of Productivity Sciences, and the Royal Society for the encouragement of Art, Manufacturers, and Commerce.

Ted Friedman

Ted Friedman is a Vice President in Gartner Inc, where he is a member of the Information Infrastructure team. His research focuses on data integration and data quality. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Friedman was employed by several large enterprises, including Andersen Consulting and GE, where he designed and deployed large-scale relational database applications, business intelligence systems, and advanced information technologies. He has over 18 years of experience in the information technology field. Mr. Friedman holds a Master of Science degree in Computing and Information Science from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio (1992). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio (1985).

Dr. Thomas C. Redman

Dr. Thomas C. Redman, known by many as the "Data Doc," was the first to extend quality principles to data and information. By advancing the body of knowledge, Tom's innovations have raised the standard of data quality in today's information-based economy. He has published numerous articles, three books and holds two patents. Dr Redman is a co-founder of the International Association for Information & Data Quality.

Larry P. English

Mr. English is an internationally recognized thought leader and consultant in information quality management and improvement. Larry has developed the Total Information Quality Management (TIQM®) methodology applying Kaizen® quality principles to information. In addition to his book Improving Data Warehouse and Business Information Quality , Larry writes the Plain English on Information Quality column for DM Review magazine as well as anchoring the Information Quality Newsletter of the B-Eye-Network ( www.b-eye-network.org ). Mr English is a co-founder of the International Association for Information & Data Quality.
