StrataVia to sponsor IT automation web seminar featuring noted author, speaker and business consultant Jill Dyché

Dyché will discuss ways that IT managers can leverage their technical resources to help business programs flourish in a November 30 Web seminar entitled “How Automation Drives IT/Business Alignment.”

DENVER, CO, November 15, 2006 -- StrataVia Corporation, a provider of database administration (DBA) products and services for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and IBM DB2, announced today it will sponsor a Web seminar entitled “How Automation Drives IT/Business Alignment” on the Business Intelligence Network featuring Jill Dyché, an internationally recognized author, speaker and business consultant. The free Web seminar will be held Thursday, November 30, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time.

As partner and cofounder of Baseline Consulting, Dyché has developed customer information strategies at companies including Verizon, American Express, Bank One, The Gap, and Charles Schwab. In this Web seminar, she will join StrataVia’s Vice President of Marketing Dr. Brian Staff in a provocative discussion on re-deploying data professionals into a company’s business and why it’s an idea whose time has come.

Dyché will help Web seminar participants determine if they have the skills and processes in place to manage the burgeoning information glut, as well as the enabling toolsets to drive efficiencies and business nimbleness. Jill will discuss ways that “data people” – DBAs, data modelers and data stewards, among others – can help business programs flourish. The topic areas that Jill will cover include:

* Tactics IT managers can use to re-deploy information professionals

* New IT initiatives to foster cross-training

* Processes for ensuring continued accountability on both sides

StrataVia’s Brian Staff will then discuss how IT automation can liberate IT professionals so they can work more closely with their business counterparts to drive true business alignment.

“There is a dearth of people on both the business and IT sides who are truly intimate with their companies’ information, its range and its business impact,” said Dyché. “Add to that industry reports, which continue to forecast the lack of availability of data professionals, and making a move toward IT automation becomes both a logical and beneficial one.”

Dyché is a faculty member of The Data Warehousing Institute, recently helped launch and serves as expert of the CDI and MDM channel for the Business Intelligence Network (www.BeyeNETWORK.com), and is on the CRM Association board of directors. Her first book, e-Data (Addison Wesley, 2000) has been published in six languages. Dyché’s second book, the CRM Handbook, (Addison Wesley, 2002), is on its ninth printing and is the bestseller on the topic of customer relationship management. Her latest book, Customer Data Integration: Reaching a Single View of the Truth, (John Wiley & Sons, 2006) with Evan Levy, offers a frank and uncensored look at customer data integration (CDI) and how companies can reach a single version of the truth.
