Campbell Dobbin, CEO of Intranet DASHBOARD said the groundbreaking survey results, "North America is leading the way, for the rest of the world in their use of corporate intranet tools, 54% of North America companies use their intranet as a collaborative work environment with 24% rating these as very popular in their organization, compared with only 46% of companies in the rest of the world (ROW) using their intranet as a collaborative work environment and 17% rating these as very popular. Among the most popular features is Instant Messaging application through the corporate intranet solution. 30% of the North American companies that use messaging tools rated them as very popular amongst staff compared to 22% ROW."

Dobbin went on to say, "RSS feeds and News were rated as 22% and 20% respectively by North American firms as very popular, compared to ROW who rated these communication tools at 10% and 30%, which suggests that North American companies have readily adopted aggregating content to their intranet sites, compared with just the use of news which is favored by the ROW as a communications means."
