Torino, Italy, July 12, 2007 -- Check the newest version of 3-way TANGRAM. It is a self-help or survival OLAP targeted for the business analyst who has no time and budget to install a major OLAP product and yet must respond to requests quickly.

The product is very lean (8 Mbytes in the minimum config.) and is installed by file-copy.

Yet it can handle any typical hypercube problem and features several innovative operations on hypercubes.

The limits of version 8 are: 250 million cells and 15 dimensions.

The philosophy of 3-way TANGRAM OLAP is to create:

1. a toolkit of hypercube primitives, available to the end user via menus and to the application developer via calls.
2. emphasis on modularity and ease of integration.
3. no restriction on the direct use of APL, even in user replies.

5. emphasis on keyword-oriented development, open-ended languages (for query, computation, cube reshaping, set operations,...)
6. open system (documented file formats available for non-APL add-ons, numerous interface points for APL add-ons, documented set of GUI dialogue modules, ...)
7. reliability, transparency, portability.

3-way TANGRAM OLAP was originally designed by Mauro Guazzo and has been around for over ten years (formerly under the name of HELM) first as an internal development tool for delivering OLAP applications, later as a packaged product for the existing customer base (170 licenses).
