LONDON, Aug. 22, 2007 -- Gazprom Marketing and Trading (GM&T), the UK subsidiary of OAO Gazprom, the world's largest natural gas company, has announced that it is implementing an enterprise content management (ECM) solution to better manage its business processes. The ECM solution -- OnBase(R) -- is developed by Hyland Software Inc. and provided by UK OnBase Authorized Solution Provider, Avanquest Solutions.

GM&T is using OnBase to automate its key business processes and allow users to retrieve scanned images, electronic documents and emails directly from line-of-business applications. Gazprom will benefit from improved management of its main trading agreements, legal contracts, deal calculations, HR, Finance and IT processes.

As a fast growing business, both in the UK and internationally, Gazprom needed to better manage its core documents. According to Soner Yaris, IT Director at Gazprom, "We wanted an easily administered solution which was user-friendly and integrated easily with existing back-office systems. Having examined several candidate suppliers, we selected OnBase from Avanquest Solutions for this key business application."

OnBase will become an integral part of the information management solutions at GM&T, assisting with business process management and compliance.

As North Sea gas volumes decline, Gazprom is poised to supply the needs of European customers using its existing infrastructure.
