Oco introduces packaged business intelligence solutions designed to meet needs of mid-sized manufacturing companies

Oco Gives Welch’s Visibility into Ways to Save Costs in Supply Chain

WALTHAM, Mass., Feb. 11, 2008 -- Oco, Inc., a leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of business intelligence (BI) and data integration solutions, announced today that it is introducing a new suite of business intelligence solutions designed to meet the specific needs of mid-sized companies in the industrial products and consumer packaged goods manufacturing industries. The new solutions – Oco Industrial Products Solution and Oco Consumer Packaged Goods Solution – contain modules with dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) in areas such as sales & profitability, sourcing & procurement, inventory, and quality & production.

The new business intelligence products are applicable to manufacturers of all sizes, but are particularly well-suited for the midmarket. Their packaging, affordability, ease of use, and SaaS-based deployment enable midmarket companies to leverage business intelligence for competitive advantage. The pre-built packages offer companies a great starting point and can easily be tailored to meet their specific needs.

“With intense competitive pressures and economic concerns, mid-sized manufacturers are looking for very focused BI solutions that will help them cut costs, gain efficiencies, and improve service levels in very specific areas,” said Crawford Del Prete, executive vice president of worldwide research for IDC. “Oco’s new solutions will provide mid-sized companies access to leading business intelligence capabilities that typically have been priced out of their reach.”

A leading food manufacturer, Welch’s, is using Oco’s Consumer Packaged Goods Transportation & Logistics module to gain visibility into details about shipments, orders, and associated costs. This information helps Welch’s optimize its operations by making the best decisions regarding shipments, carriers, and lane utilization.

“We spend millions of dollars each year in transportation, so it is critical that we have deep, detailed visibility into our distribution system,” said Bill Coyne, director of purchasing and logistics for Welch’s. “Oco’s solution allows us to extract and see integrated data from three different systems. We are using this information to find opportunities for cost savings and service improvements through more efficient routes, load levels, and carriers.”

“Our new suite enables midmarket manufacturers such as Welch’s to get their business intelligence applications up and running within weeks and at an affordable price,” said William Copacino, president and CEO of Oco, Inc. “Our packaged best practices address manufacturers’ specific business needs, and allow them to drill down to a granular level of detail so they can see root causes of problems and areas for improvement. The SaaS deployment offers additional benefits by minimizing upfront costs and reducing the demands on scarce IT resources.”

Pricing and Availability

The new solution suites contain modules that address specific business functions such as Sales & Profitability, Sourcing & Procurement, Inventory, Asset Management, and Transportation & Logistics. The new products are currently available at prices starting at $75,000 per module.
