In Insight 3.0, Altosoft extends its leadership in ease-of-implementation and ease-of-use. Altosoft adds an intuitive, web-based reporting module, Insight Reports. The addition of Insight Reports enables Altosoft to deliver a comprehensive, fully integrated, enterprise BI platform, including reporting; dynamic, personalized dashboards; powerful analytics; and KPI-based scorecards.

Altosoft also goes beyond ordinary BI by adding advanced operational capabilities including real-time complex event processing (CEP), process analytics, incident management, operational forecasting, and more. Report development is browser-based with dynamic, intuitive, drag-and-drop design experience, leveraging the same AJAX technology used in Altosoft’s unique web-based dashboard development application. Like all Altosoft solutions, Insight Reports is 100% codeless – no SQL or any other coding or scripting is required. Insight Reports features powerful scoping and filtering capability, so information presented in all reports is automatically personalized based on user role and data access privileges. Users can create and maintain individual libraries of reports; schedule reports for publication; share reports; and publish reports or books of reports automatically using server-based Adobe .pdf generation.

Process Compliance Analysis. In Insight 3.0, Altosoft extends its existing industry-leading support for process analytics with new, advanced capabilities for process compliance monitoring. Traditional BI interprets and analyzes data as a series of individual records, but doesn’t understand the sequential and correlative relationships between those records in the context of a business process. Altosoft’s event-based approach to BI incorporates a unique process state engine that is capable of tracking the status of any running business process instance, even if that process is being managed across multiple operational systems. This native understanding of process state, lacking in other BI solutions, enables Altosoft to deliver comprehensive process and process quality metrics. With Insight 3.0, Altosoft extends the capability of its process state engine to support monitoring of complex processes, including looping, branching, exceptions, and other ad hoc behaviors. If processes or individual process instances encounter difficulty, exception notifications can be delivered immediately to business managers based on user-defined rules.

In-Memory Architecture. This new engine leverages unique, proprietary Altosoft technology for optimized performance. Specifically, cache accelerators accelerate complex operations like multi-source outer joins with intelligent calculation and compression algorithms for optimized memory management. In addition, analytics-oriented optimization and smart aggregation technology enables Altosoft Insight to intelligently optimize in-memory data structures based on requirements for downstream KPI delivery. Unlike first generation in-memory BI systems that offer high performance analytics but are essentially disconnected from source data and only support infrequent batch updates, Altosoft’s second generation in-memory architecture enables dynamic updates directly from operational data sources.
