Panorama Software releases NovaView 5.5, the first BI suite to combine on-premise with SaaS BI for the enterprise

New Version of Leading Business Intelligence Suite Leverages Power of Cloud Computing To Deliver Innovative Web 2.0 Solutions for Enterprise BI

TORONTO, ON, July 15, 2008 -– Panorama Software, a global leader in Proactive Business Intelligence solutions, today released NovaView Version 5.5, the newest iteration of its flagship suite of BI (Business Intelligence) applications. Along with its other improvements, NovaView 5.5 breaks new and exciting ground by offering a hybrid on-premises/SaaS capability, enabling large enterprises to retain their data warehouse in-house while still using the power of cloud computing to collaborate on BI data and significantly enhance the BI experience with Web 2.0 functionality.

NovaView 5.5’s new hybrid architecture is made possible through its integration with Panorama’s recently-announced PowerApps analytical platform. This advanced SaaS (Software as a Service) capability lets NovaView users analyze desired portions of enterprise data through the Web while combining the data with other complimentary, Web-based public data sources. The capability also supports advanced collaboration functionality between users inside and outside the firewall. As a result, NovaView 5.5 is the best alternative yet for larger companies desiring greater insights and collaborative capabilities.

“First and foremost, our mission is to enable large enterprises to fully leverage their investment in BI,” said Eynav Azarya, CEO of Panorama Software. “By creating a hybrid solution that respects a company’s investment in its BI data and platforms, yet also delivers the full power of Web 2.0 through SaaS, NovaView 5.5 lets information workers share, collaborate and gain new insights around their business data.”

NovaView 5.5 also gives users a number of powerful new capabilities including:

* The ability to save and share full interactive reports “on the cloud” for real time collaboration.

* Tight integration with Google docs and Google Apps, putting BI and productivity tools closely together.

* A mashups capability that lets users combine corporate data with public data for greater insights.

* A new RSS functionality, enabling users to subscribe to changes in new powerful ways.

Integration with SaaS applications such as Salesforce.com and others. “SaaS-based BI is not new. Until now, however, there hasn’t been a SaaS product well suited to the needs of larger enterprises—nor was there real value in moving to this new model for the enterprise,” said Oudi Antebi, Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for Panorama Software. “NovaView 5.5 is truly a groundbreaking advancement because it allows large enterprises to leverage the advantages of both Web 2.0 capabilities through SaaS and on-premises BI, while also eliminating the complexity posed by placing whole data warehouses on the Web.”

In addition to its new SaaS capability, NovaView 5.5 offers a number of other enhancements. Among the upgrades and improvements are a new and improved user interface, as well as increased usability via an enhanced Flash-based dashboard. NovaView 5.5 also continues to leverage the full power of MDX (MultiDimensional eXpression) by supporting the most pervasive BI platforms in the market such as SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence and SQL Server Analysis Services.

Panorama continues to explore and expand end–user options for enhanced usability, analytics, collaborative and mobile functionalities. Panorama NovaView 5.5 is now available for existing and new users; for more information, log on to www.panorama.com/products.
