On international roadshow, Teradata CTO Stephen Brobst gives insights on latest developments in data analytics

Leading expert in data warehousing addresses latest technology and business trends in data analytics on CTO Roadshow across Asia and Europe

DAYTON, Ohio, May 30, 2013 -- For the fifth consecutive year, Stephen Brobst, chief technology officer of Teradata (NYSE: TDC), and Martin Willcox, director of platform and solutions marketing, international, Teradata, discuss the latest technology and business trends in data warehousing and business intelligence during the annual CTO Roadshow. As a result of the growing demand for analytic solutions in parts of Asia, the popular series has expanded this year to include several cities there, in addition to cities in Europe and the Middle East. The CTO Roadshow continues now through mid-September.

The events address technology developments in big data analytics and data warehousing, such as in-memory computing and the analysis of multistructured data. They will also cover Teradata technological advancements, such as the Teradata Unified Data Architecture™ (UDA) and Teradata Intelligent Memory, which uses Teradata’s multi-temperature data management strategy.

During each event on the CTO Roadshow, data warehousing experts will have the chance to learn more about topics that can be of decisive importance from a business perspective, such as semantic data modeling, graph processing, indexing and other aspects of data analytics.

Stephen Brobst, the leading expert in data warehousing, will explain the role of semantic data modeling when deploying an enterprise data warehouse. He will also discuss graph processing as an effective model of computation when implementing big data analytics. Brobst will also discuss how the appropriate indexing strategy – based on benefits and costs – can dramatically improve both the performance and efficiency of an integrated data warehouse system.

Martin Willcox will take a close look at the competitive landscape in data warehousing and compare the scale-out hardware architecture of Teradata to other systems. Willcox will also address how big, diverse data differs from other data sets and show a conceptual model for its segmentation. He will explain why technology and data integration are critical considerations for enabling a Logical Data Warehouse or a Unified Data Architecture™ and present a selection of use-cases that illustrate the value of big data technologies.

The CTO Roadshow is touring Ain El-Sokhna, Egypt; Antwerp, Belgium; Beijing, Dusseldorf, Germany; Jakarta, Indonesia; London; Moscow; Helsinki; Paris; Prague; Rome; Shenzen, China; Singapore; Stockholm; Taipei, Taiwan; Tokyo, and Warsaw, Poland. Not all topics will be addressed at all events. For additional information, agendas and event dates go to www.teradata.com/events/ or contact teradata.EMEA@teradata.com.
