New SAP HANA data provisioning book by Protiviti SAP experts
MENLO PARK, Calif., July 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Global consulting firm Protiviti's SAP® expert Don Loden, together with four co-authors from the firm's Data Management and Advanced Analytics practice, have written a new book titled Data Provisioning for SAP HANA. Before making data available in SAP HANA, the data must be standardized, integrated and secured. The book details the options to accomplish that data provisioning, introducing readers to the various tools available and providing detailed case studies that demonstrate the tools in action.
Data Provisioning for SAP HANA is available in either hard copy or e-book format from SAP PRESS.
"Analytics, business intelligence and leveraging information strategically are top priorities for CIOs, many of whom turn to SAP HANA to achieve the best results," said Shaheen Dil, a Protiviti managing director and global leader of its Data Management and Advanced Analytics practice. "As a long-time SAP Gold Partner and seven-time Top Solution Provider Partner of the Year, Protiviti is in a unique position to provide industry leadership and counsel on this topic. Data Provisioning for SAP HANA is essential reading for companies looking to simplify the IT landscape by using SAP HANA tools to manage their data more effectively."
Don Loden, a Protiviti managing director, has co-authored three previous books published by SAP PRESS. A full-time consultant, he has more than 15 years of IT experience in the field of ETL (extract, transform and load) architecture, data modeling and warehouse design, analytics architectures and business analysis and is a frequent public speaker, including at SAP SAPPHIRENOW. His Protiviti co-authors, who made significant contributions to Data Provisioning for SAP HANA, including offering their real-world experience, are data and analytics managers Russell Lamb and Vinay Suneja and senior consultants Vernon Gomes and Megan Cundiff.
SAP provides several options to extract, transform and load data into SAP HANA. The authors' 375-page book looks at each tool independently to understand its strengths and weaknesses, and where each typically sits in the IT landscape. Highlights include:
SAP HANA smart data integration (SDI)
SAP HANA smart data quality (SDQ)
SAP HANA smart data access (SDA)
SAP agile data preparation
SAP data services
SAP landscape transformation replication (SLT)
SAP data quality management (DQM)
SAP HANA data in the cloud
Each chapter in the book demonstrates how to install, configure and develop in these tools, and real-world case studies show how the tools were implemented in various organizations.
