Business Analytics

Business Analytics (BA) is a systematic thinking process that applies qualitative and quantitative computerized tools and methods to analyze data to gain insight to inform and support business and managerial decision making. A particular analysis uses appropriate techniques including diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive and optimization models.

BA is the application of analytical tools to decision questions. Business Analytics focuses on developing insights and understanding related to problems and performance issues using qualitative, quantitative and statistical methods. Business Analytics includes Business Intelligence and Reporting.

Business Analytics is used in many organizations including not-for-profit hospitals, government agencies including policing, and military organizations.
