WCI ADMA, based at Wright State University, is committed to creating new high wage, high-tech jobs in Ohio through business growth driven by commercializing leading-edge research in advanced data management and analysis. Specifically, WCI ADMA focuses on technologies linked to improving the acquisition, management, analysis and delivery of large volumes of complex data. This will result in the enhancement of knowledge management and discovery, quality and security, and the representation of data through visualization and fusion using simulation, modeling and other techniques. NCR is a founding member of the WCI ADMA program along with other prominent Ohio technology companies such as LexisNexis, Reynolds & Reynolds, Standard Register and Cincom Systems. Wright State University is WCI ADMA's lead institution with cost-share commitments from four other universities (Kent State University, Ohio State University, University of Cincinnati, and University of Dayton) and the Air Force Research Lab at Wright Patterson Air Force Base is collaborating through the Wright Brothers Institute. The Teradata warehouse solution for WCI ADMA being installed at Wright State University is a two-node 5400E with a storage capacity of 1.6 terabytes running on the latest releases of Teradata database, utilities and tools, including Teradata Warehouse Miner. "We needed a robust, scalable environment to support the growth of data centric applications aligned with our long-range goals, and Teradata was chosen because it is a powerful, scalable system that can grow as WCI ADMA grows," said Ken Berta, WCI ADMA chief marketing officer. In addition to the data warehouse solution package, Teradata will contribute and implement its supply chain intelligence software to support the development of the new master's in logistics program at the Raj Soin School of Business at Wright State University. This will enable students to gain first-hand experience in the emerging Data Intensive Supply Chain© that will enhance the performance of Ohio's manufacturing logistics businesses.
