As part of the deal, Nstein will integrate its Ntelligent search and discovery solution within Cognos' intranet to measurably improve the relevancy and speed by which Cognos' Knowledge Workers can locate the information they are looking for.

Cognos' extensive product evaluation demonstrated the limitations of keyword-based search technology. In most cases, Cognos found that keyword searches in their knowledge base, which contains millions of documents, resulted in users having to manually comb through hundreds, if not thousands of documents, before finding the right answer. This starkly contrasts with Nstein's Ntelligent search solution that leverages the "aboutness" of content to generate guided navigation. Moreover, topic and product clustering, inherent to Ntelligent search, enables users to intuitively locate the right document while similar document suggestion lists create a much richer and efficient information retrieval process. Real-time indexing of incoming documents also ensures that corporate knowledge is quickly made accessible to all users.
