London, United Kingdom, October 18, 2005 – LODESTAR announced today that EDF Energy has purchased a license for LODESTAR’s PricingExpert® to improve efficiency in their existing business. EDF Energy supplies gas and electricity to around five million customers making it one of the largest energy companies in the United Kingdom.

Deregulation over the past fifteen years has made the United Kingdom one of the most competitive markets in Europe. EDF Energy needed to rapidly respond to the resulting competitive pressures with an adaptable solution. The optimal solution needed to be flexible enough to address each individual customer’s needs and to adapt to ongoing market changes. At the same time, the solution needed to integrate with the existing Customer Contract Management System to provide a seamless process. EDF Energy found the solution they sought in PricingExpert.
