Corning Credit Union adopts Adobe Intelligent Document Platform to speed loan generation

Leading Credit Union Boosts Employee Productivity and Enhances Customer Service with New Solution

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 8, 2004 -- Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced that Corning Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative serving retirees and employees of Corning Incorporated and its subsidiaries, has adopted the Adobe(R) Intelligent Document Platform to improve customer service and employee productivity.

Using the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform, the company has created a series of interactive, intelligent forms that employees can complete online to instantly generate completed loan packets. To create loan packets, employees enter information into an online form connected to a database. The system places the data automatically into the appropriate pre-built Adobe PDF form template. The file is encrypted and password protected to help ensure client confidentiality.

"The Adobe Intelligent Document Platform enables us to produce customized documents up to three times faster and with fewer errors. We have also been able to improve employee productivity and customer service -- two key advantages in the competitive lending market," says Greg Howard, supervisor of system development at CCU. "Documents have been and will continue to be integral to our work -- now with the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform we have smarter ways of producing and handling them."

With the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform, Corning Credit Union can generate loan packets up to 60 percent faster than with the previous system. Corning Credit Union staff members can now quickly and reliably generate all the loan forms a customer needs. Within minutes, employees can produce custom loan packets in an Adobe PDF file that includes pre-populated forms tailored to lending requirements for a particular loan. These efficiencies mean employees spend less time on routine administrative tasks and more time focusing directly on customers.

The materials are also centrally created, helping to ensure that Corning Credit Union staff delivers consistent, high-quality documents. In contrast, manual, decentralized paper processes can make it difficult to guarantee that employees develop and deliver branded, professional materials.

The benefits of the Adobe solution-based processes are realized throughout the organization. Staff can quickly complete and approve procurement requests electronically, eliminating the delays common when documents are routed on paper.
