Salesforce Foundation marks 1,000 non-profits running operations on Salesforce.com on-demand services

Unique Customization of Salesforce and AppExchange Delivers Value Across Range of Non-profit Implementations

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Aug. 16, 2006 -- Salesforce Foundation, the global leader in integrating philanthropy and business, today announced that it has delivered salesforce.com's (NYSE: CRM) on-demand business services to 1,000 non-profit organizations around the globe. The donation of Salesforce licenses is part of salesforce.com's 1/1/1 Model -- a commitment to deliver 1% Time, 1% Equity and 1% Product to non-profit organizations. Non-profit organizations use Salesforce, along with applications from AppExchange, salesforce.com's revolutionary platform for on-demand business services, to manage membership, contact and affiliate data; track and forecast fundraising campaigns; and report on volunteer opportunities.

"Giving back to our communities has been a fundamental element of the salesforce.com culture from day one," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of salesforce.com. "The 1/1/1 Model offers the opportunity for businesses to dramatically increase the magnitude and reach of corporate philanthropy, and offers a solution that is much greater than the sum of its parts. We at salesforce.com are committed to a future where business plays an increasingly larger role in community and we are proud to be a part of this visionary approach."

Organizations around the globe have benefited from the 1% Product donation of the 1/1/1 Model including:

-- United Way -- International organization implemented Salesforce solutions to foster internal collaboration and manage relationships with corporate partners, donors, constituents and members; information is aggregated and shared in order to serve customers better and make more strategic decisions on accounts.

-- Volunteer Centres Ireland -- Irish charity uses Salesforce to centralize management of nine separate volunteer programs and coordinate volunteers for each event; volunteer skills and preferences are now automatically matched to opportunity criteria.

-- Freeplay Foundation -- South African organization deployed Salesforce in South Africa and the United Kingdom to create a single, comprehensive view of donors and manage distribution of wind-up and solar-powered Lifeline radios, which broadcast information related to health, education, complex emergencies, agriculture and peace-making.

Core to the Salesforce Foundation's mission is to enable non-profits to improve operational efficiencies without the need to install, maintain or upgrade software or hardware. Because of the ease of use of the Salesforce on-demand platform, organizations benefit from a solution that can be customized for their particular needs. In addition, the easy to use service allows money to be used for key programs rather than spent on costly IT support.

Through its global outreach, Salesforce Foundation donates Salesforce solutions to organizations such as Association Pere Ceyrac (France); Human Info NGO (Belgium); Kids Company (Great Britain); Macquarie University Institute (Australia); Net4kids Aid Foundation (Netherlands); Special Olympics Nippon Tokyo (Japan); and Take a Hike Youth at Risk Foundation (Canada).
