The University of Kansas Hospital licenses clinical decision support solutions from Zynx Health

LOS ANGELES & KANSAS CITY, Kan., Sept. 21, 2006--The University of Kansas (KU) Hospital has contracted with Zynx Health to integrate clinical content as part of the hospital's advanced clinical information system project.

"The hospital was seeking a product to help us achieve our strategic quality improvement goals by helping us reduce variation in care and apply a broad medical evidence knowledge base throughout our organization," says Greg Ator, MD, FACS, and medical information officer for the hospital. "We selected ZynxOrder and look forward to making it a part of our comprehensive system."

ZynxOrder will provide KU Hospital with a Web-based knowledge management system for developing and maintaining evidence-based order sets, reminders, and alerts. Additionally, KU Hospital clinicians will have access to more than 3,400 evidence summaries and 450 order set templates, as well as the online customization tools to streamline the process of developing order sets and reach rapid consensus on best practices. Zynx clinicians create and update all clinical content and order set templates based on timely, rigorous reviews of the peer-reviewed literature, pay-for-performance measures, and regulatory standards.

"We are honored to have been selected by The University of Kansas Hospital, a world class academic medical center, as the provider of evidence-based clinical decision support and clinical decision support collaboration tools," says Scott Weingarten, MD, MPH, president and chief executive officer of Zynx Health. "We believe that by enabling clinicians to access context-specific clinical information at the 'point of care,' KU Hospital's medical staff will consistently deliver evidence-based clinical care to patients throughout KU Hospital through their clinical information systems."
