SGI and IDELIX bring cutting edge visualization solutions for customers

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, June 22, 2004 - Silicon Graphics (NYSE: SGI) and IDELIX® Software Inc. today announced the availability of IDELIX's award-winning Pliable Display Technology® (PDT) on SGI® Reality Center® environments within the SGI Customer Briefing Center (CBC) at SGI Headquarters in Mountain View and the Mobile Innovation Center (MIC).

The SGI CBC Reality Center facility features a 160-degree seamless, spherical display and demonstrates interactive computing in a collaborative environment, where Pliable Display Technology by IDELIX is currently being deployed on a 16- processor SGI® Onyx® 3000 visualization system with InfiniteReality® graphics and 8Gb of RAM. The Mobile Innovation Center is an 18-wheel, state-of-the-art, customized demonstration facility that tours the US and Canada, and will also feature IDELIX PDT on cutting-edge SGI® systems.

"SGI's high-performance computing and multi-pipe graphic systems provide an ideal deployment vehicle for IDELIX Pliable Display Technology," commented Ali Solehdin, Director of Business Development for IDELIX Software. "SGI systems are uniquely suited to provide the core computing power for mission-critical applications, and by deploying IDELIX PDT at SGI's CBC and MIC, top decision makers from government agencies will gain a first hand look at the future of visualization for command and control, and the high-performance computing systems that are driving this revolution."

Pliable Display Technology represents the next generation user interface for data discovery in a geospatial context. PDT has enabled users at the command and control and first responder levels within the geospatial intelligence community, in addition to image analysts and geospatial analysts, to improve situational awareness and perform labor-intensive, time-critical tasks, with greater precision and accuracy.

According to Paul Temple, Senior Business Development Manager for SGI Federal, "IDELIX represents significant forward thinking in visualizing the battlefield for military operations. The ability to view regions of interest in great detail, while still maintaining complete visual situational awareness, is critical for effective decision-making in command and control scenarios. PDT's ability to effectively represent fused data layers in a manner that allows more timely, accurate, and reliable decisions to be made, resonates directly with the operational use of SGI systems and their current and future deployments."

"Collaborative relationships are extremely important for SGI", said Temple. "Together IDELIX and SGI are excited to deliver best-of-breed software and computing systems to defense and other government agencies to meet operational requirements."
